Is Polaris's 2011 800 going to run?

Might sound like a dumb question. I really want a new Pro, but am wondering if polaris has this 800 fuelly finally figured out. Would like some input from the guys that have some miles on this baby. I am currently riding an old edge rmk and would really like to upgrade. What do you guys think about this engine, is it going to be reliable?

ran 800 60 miles yesterday in the type of riding that would have cooked a 08-10 dragon. The pro ran perfectly with no apparant lean areas or stumbles or anything. It might need a turbo or something for more power but I actually was impressed with what it was able to do with the power it had.

Just curious - did you read ALL of the posts on here before starting a new thread? Look at the posts for the last month - can't get much better reports than those.

Local Arctic Cat dealer in this area is telling its customers that the new (2011) poo 800s are having the same trouble as the 08-10s I was wondering how he would know that but it still makes me curious.

Sounds like he's trying not to lose customers to Polaris... I have not read 1 post or heard about any kind of mid-range stutter. I'll be getting on mine for the first time this weekend, can't wait! :face-icon-small-coo

Maybe he's telling you that 'cause he's a CAT dealer & wants you to buy a Cat? :face-icon-small-win Also, it helps him in general to promote his brand and discredit others... :pop2:

Ha, sounds like something my local Cat dealer would say, that's funny. Only 60 miles on mine over a weekend, no probs at all. Mostly off-trail riding in some pretty deep pow. I love it so far.

My 10-d8 and my pro are both working great this year, the pro stuttered once in the first hour but has been flawless since then and getting better.

I don't get the question...

Do you think we would all buy this sled thinking it wouldn't run? We all said, "what the hell, let's buy a crappy sled!". And...all of this because people said so on the 4M.

let me know where those 60 miles are i want to avoid that spot cuz i have an 09 with over 2500 hundred miles with no problems and i dont want to run into that terrain if it will cook my sled

WTH are you talking about? How did that relate to my post? :face-icon-small-con These threads and posts make me realize that we need more snow, too much time on the puter, not enough on those crappy ProRMK's :face-icon-small-win

Don't know what you can't understand? Polaris's 800 has been troublesome since its return in 08. I wanted some input from guys that have some time on the 2011s and how they feel about it so far. Pretty simple I think.

I have rode mine twice now in deep snow both days. full throttle for long pulls and on off for the tree riding and this sled impresses me more and more each time. No hesitation and great power, this 800 seems to run like a champ.

All of this is so far. Most of the D8's I ride with didn't show any signs of poor run-ability till they got up to the 500-800 mile mark. 200 miles says very little to me. But I hope with all I'm worth these motors hold up. If not, well lets go there.

It seems as if we have all had it studder a couple times early in the break in. or close too. Mine did cut out a couple time when it had less then 75 miles. I have road about 200 and and other then those couple times it has ran awsome. went on a ride today in 5 feet of powder the cats seemed to get a powder bog a bit but the pro didnt miss a beat. Great Sled so far very happy with the purchase.
