doing an extenstion on an 04 rev 8 from a 136 to 151 along with a new challanger 2 in paddle track......just gunna put the drive shaft in tommorow night and wondering if im gunna be wasting my time or will it fit without havin to go to a smaller shaft which therefore would ruin my life for a week or two

2" paddle should fit no problem. My 05 800 summit came stock with 10 tooth drivers and 2" paddle.

What gears you gonna run?

but this on an mxz will that make a difference on the fit or not......just gunna run stock gears or is that a bad idea haha not a clue time doin a swap

Drive

Tunnel is the same for the REVs.
You will want to change gears. Probably have 23/43, but should change to 21/45.

im guessin your are talkina bout the sprockets and the number of teeth am i correct....may be a dumb ? b ut just clarifyin

The gears in the chain case, with ten tooth drivers 19/45 and if you have 9 tooth I would run 20/45 you may need a new chain to do this.

what am i losin by not changin the gears? also how much gear fluid should i put in hard to tell on the dipstick

POWER!! Your loseing the power you already have, if you put it together without changing gears you'll see the loss. I'm not sure how much fluid the case takes but I just use any ATF way cheaper.

Gearing

Gearing affects your startability and top end. Lower gears will give you longer belt life, same as starting a truck in first gear will be better for the clutch, compared to second gear. With more traction (longer track & deep lug), you want lower gears and if you happen to be going to the mountains, you will lose power at high elevation, so you would want to gear lower yet.
Ultimately, you want to gear as low as possible, but not over rev the engine at top speed. This means figure out what your desired fastest speed is and gear for that. Here's an example: 19 tooth top gear / 47 tooth bottom gear (19/47) with 9 tooth 2.52" drivers (standard drive pitch), will give you 90 mph top end at 8000 RPM. This is very nice gearing for the all around if you don't need to go more than 90 mph.
Gearing does not change your power, just speed. Clutching is were you need to focus to best utilize the power you have, especially if you are going to the mountains.

so 19/47 is probably the best? im gunna be runnin anywhere from 2000-10000 feet...i hvane no problem with the clutching just curious about whats et of gears would be best to fitboth needs......mtn and flatland...also do i need a diff chain with different gears im guessin so and how about gear lube how much do i use

Use Mobil 1 75W 90 Synthetic in the chain case. Takes just about 7-8 ounces. Much cheaper than Doo chaincase oil. Can get a quart of the Mobil 1 for about $12.00 last I checked.
