I'm sure this question has been answered many times, but I've kind of been out of the loop .... Are those HTG 975 kits the only ones left?

Is Carl's officially not making them for good anymore? I'm still toying with this notion ....

as far as i know carl's is done making them. htg made mine but couldn't get an ecu to work for me. so i talked carls into flashing my ecu it seems to work good now will now by sunday how well when i get to island park.

i wish we could talk carl's into doing a few more. maybe we need to get a group together for a group buy??

I'd still be interested in this ... I haven't given up on my 900 RMK yet ... I have so much time and money into it I kind of still want to finish what I started ;)

hehehehehe....I got a backup I can ride so if it's down while I'm working on it it's all good :D

if carl's would do them i know my bro would do it to his next year and there are several other guys on here that are interested too i think

if that's the case, I would say get a list together... lots of things can happen when you have strength in numbers.... might be worth their while if they had a group of 6 or so guys?????

Count me in for next season, I'll be heading to Iraq on the 17th so I'd have to send carls a deposit till I get back.

call and talk to tom in service I bet he could get some answers. I know they are at hard work on turbos this year but I would think carls cycle wouldnt turn down custome work for a cutomer they told me they could keep mine running that I could get parts no problem

i also talked to 2poor about this..he knows a guy that works at Highmark Rec in ID, that will build them..he will also do an 1140...

i have his info to get ahold of him if you need it..i havent had the time to sit and talk to him on the phone about any of it...

but i will be sending him my cylinders for the porting at least this summer...

I emailed chris the performance dept contact guy and he replied they don't do 975's anymore.

LOL...you would try and push me there wouldnt you..lol..

i talked to 2poor about the porting...he has an 05 900 with the porting and a few other things...and he said the porting he does is so good, that his 05 900 (866) will hold a 975 all day...

so that being said..if i can get a few more ponies from what i have now..i can justify that...but a 975 i cant...but an 1140...now were talking...

but then again..i cant seem to handle what i have now either :D:beer;

I'd definatley be interested in a 975 that's been properly ported ... if he's still making them this spring when you send yours in let me know, I'll probably be down for one.

I am interested also, I know that the kit carls had required 40/60 blend race gas and this was one reason I held off on purchasing one earlier.
I don't know anything about HTG? How many guy's are running that kit? and what is the difference between these two kits?
I would lean towards a pump gas kit.... even though it may not put out quite the H.P. that a race gas kit does.( race gas in Canada is very expensive 20.00 gal)
However I would hope that a pump gas kit would perform significantly better than a fresh 866cc motor.

I've talked to both Jack Struthers and Chris Kasel at Carls... Outside of supporting current 975 customers... they are NOT interested in making these kits again... even if there lots of people that want to order and put down 100% deposit... (I asked that too).

It's just not worth the time to hassle with a "dead" motor design.

Thats sad to hear even after the proven design they already have.... Its not perfect but close enough. Its frustrating at the same time knowing you missed out on something amazing and knowing not much compares. We do so much to these sled cause its what we got and what we know, and you get to a point and know there is a step up, but can't have it.

Well said...i feel the same way...:(

just have to skip the 975, and go turbo instead

Turbo is in the plans but I am in bumf*** nowhere, ND and they don't have race gas around here. Pump gas is the only way to go and its borderline worth it IMHO. I understand that the Carls kit is 50/50 also but hey, I guess I'll figure it out eventually. Thats also the only thing stopping me from using nitrous is I can't get it locally.

Just have to move closer to the mountains after school is done. Getting my degree in Simulator Technology, they don't have those around here LOL so I have to move.
