Is a pipe worth the money on a 2008 D7

I am just getting back into the game got me a bad 2008 700 Dragon with the 163 a Persion performance products can (aka Cutler can) good vents and was thinking of a pipe but not sure if it is worth the money? Also i am not a mod kind of guy i just like a strong running sled so what are the risks of a pipe?

Thanks for the help.

I have the exact same sled I have an SLP pipe and can and it runs strong. No regrets for sure. As for HP gain Im not sure I put it on as soon as I bought the sled.

Same here, I put the SLP set up on my bro-in-law's sled and it made a huge difference. They say to leave the stock clutching as well so no extra set-up really needed. It gives me a good run with the same set up on a D8 with Carl's clutching!

hey i read the pipe gives u ten more horse, but this is achievable with a pclll and the stock pipe, for less money, and u can fix the ultra lean spot in the stock fuel map @ 5-6000 rpm, so i would recommend the pclll, if u run both u should get another 3-4 hp. the pipe gains most of its power by leaning out the upper rpm range cause the stock map is rich there, so its up to you. the other good thing about the slp is its ceramic coated so it should keep under hood temps down. my top end went last season due to the lean spot so i would reccomend the pclll for that reason alone, other wise avoid that rpm range @ 40-50% throttle, wich is next to impossible. good luck,
ps i love my dragon best handling sled ever made

The SLP single is a vast improvement from stock. My dad has the same sled bought it new and kept is stock for the first season, then last year he put the SLP single on I have road it stock many times and have road it many times with the pipe and if nothing else the 9 lbs. you lose is very nice. A very noticeable improvement in HP and responsiveness. It really wakes that sled up and makes it even more fun to ride. He also put the SLP air box upgrade on as well. For the small amount of money for those two things it is well worth it. In my eyes, go for it you will have a smile on your face after you ride it!!!!

Just my two penny's

p.m. him if you'd like

Has a 2008 D7, also has the PC 3

After dyno testing, kept the PC 3,

Has the SLP pipe up for sale

What people need to realize is just because the sled "rips" after a pipe is installed it's usually due to the fact that the stock sled was PIG RICH to start with and the pipe LEANED it out.

When optimizing the fuel mix (PC 3, 5 or Boondockers) with each set-up, the gain to be had from an aftermarket pipe is minimal at best.

PC 3 or PC 5, $365.00 plug & play, correct mapping included

When you sell your sled, remove the fuel controller and keep it for the next sled, or an E-Z re-sell

Aftermarket pipe $560.00
