Is a Crossfire 600 enough for Bighorns?

I would like to make a trip to the Bighorns this winter. I have a Crossfire 600 with a 141 track with 1.5 inch lugs. Mostly interested in trails and off trail meadows. Keep it simple for my first trip. Can I have fun with this setup or am I going to be stuck all day?

Thanks
Jay

Stuck all day? No. If you know how to ride...

Some of the best fun is had with the sleds that make you work a bit harder to get there. And if you are going to spend time on the trails, anything longer gets to be rather annoying. Besides, they most likely have 800 mountain sleds to rent somewhere around there should you decide to take a day to really seek deeper snow...

like a good car race, run what you brung!

Have a great time

No not for your first trip, i rode a 97 700 144 up there for two years and did ok. I figured out if you wanted to get where the big boys are you just have to go faster than them to get there... But no you should be fine unless you hit one of them monster storms where everyone gets stuck, in that case you could rent from bear lodge. All in all you should have a blast!

I went to snowies with a 600 x-fire with a 136x1.5 and had a absolute blast. The snow was really good for shorter sleds but still got stuck a lot. Like they said just have to know how to ride it.

I rode my Renegade 600 out there for 3 years, also rode it at Cooke City, they were amazed that I could ride with them:becky: You just have to know what your doing and get a little run at certain things. I also had a 1 3/4 track 136 long

You'll do fine with it. I had a 600 144 Mtn Cat years ago and rode up there all the time with it. I rode with all 800's and kept up fine. I just came back running on fumes because I was always balls to walls, but man you will become a good rider fast when trying to keep up on a 600 when you are with all 800s.

Thanks everyone. I was a liitle worried after reading about all the high horsepower turbos and 150+ inch tracks everyone seems to have. For now I think those would get me into places I probably shouldn't be until I get more experienced. Thanks again, looking forward to it.

You will no problem in the horns with your sled!!!I use to go there with a 440 121 and could go everwhere!!!!

A friend of mine rode with me in Island Park, Big Sky, and Skalkaho Pass on that same exact sled, while he couldn't go as high as I could (174" Apex) he still did dang good on that sled. It might surprise you on the places it will go.

u should be fine up there. had a 800 crosfire up there about four trips and it worked fine! you wont be able to go some places but u will still have a blast! i would for sure reccomend u clutch for the elevation tho. crossfires are not clutched for elevation.
