IQR with XCR 800 Engine

Very nice!
When you were young you must have been that annoying kid down the street who had all the model airplanes he had built hanging from the ceiling.
I, on the other hand, was the impatient kid who gave up in ten minutes and spent the rest of the day sniffing the glue.

Ummm... whats wrong with models? And lets replace annoying with... inquisitive. Trying to make things like I envision them is really hampering the speed at which this is getting done. I think it will pay off though.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Need to address a few issues before its ready for the snow, but its running and soon to be moving under its own power.

hey that looks super! Just curious, what are you using for insulation on your oil tank? I used the foam with foil backing made for insulating water pipes and such, but the heat and a bit of spilled oil made it come apart right away.

Looks good!

Is the engine stock? I bet those pipes cost about as much as a foreign car :D

AWSOME BUILD man lets see some action pics soon!

You wouldn't be chance have some stock spindles you want to sell really cheep? What about the stock shocks? What width of a-arm is that?

Do yourself a favor and change those green slides in the rack carbs to black ones if you have not already. It is just a matter of time before a corner brakes off and you will lose a cylinder. It has happened to many guys with the 800 tripple. Good luck and build looks good.

Ean,

Why would stuff that motor in there? ;)

Nick

Cause I can. :)

Interestingly the only used part on the sled was 1 coolant hose. I used some spare carb boots for mock up.

Already noted on the green carb slides, just need some spare time to swap in the black ones.

The engine is not stock, Hot seat 14:1 heads, Flannery Ported Cyl's, flannery ported cases, LRM pipes, VF3 reeds.

The pipes were not what I would call free or inexpensive, but Larry Rugland does dang nice work. :)

Ean,

awesome, I wish I would have stuffed mine into an IQ instead of the last ProX, but oh well. you did a nice job bud, hope to see it at the hill drags in the spring.

Nick
