IQ vs Pro

I have both, an 08 163' Dragon and a 2011 standard RMK 155' that I just bought from a forum member. My buddies kicked my butt all year on thier Pro's, my Dragon had SLP pipe, clutching and a PC3, still no contest. I think you should wait a bit as the season is pretty much over and other deals will come up for 2011 pro's. Don't waste your money on an 08/10 unless you get an awsome good deal. I have been trying to sell my 08 and no one is interested, even at a super good price!!! The 2011 I bought is also a rental but with way less milage, the sellers name on the forum is Supersmith. The add is still up and he has 4 2011 RMK's left, you might want to see if you can work out a deal with him.

Go for the Pro but update the front shocks for sure. Makes a night and day diffrence in the handling.

another think to consider is re-sale you will have a much easier time selling the pro down the line than the IQ. just some food for thought. good luck with your decision!

I came off an 08 d-8 163, holz suspension frt/rear, float-2's all around, 2.5 camo extreme, fastrax drop and roll, slp single, pc-5, well clutched/geared down, 10 frt plastic....my stock 163 pro whips it bad..deeper the snow the worse the whipping...hard to beat the pro......

The Dragon 800 motors have issues. Rode with 2 guys last weekend that had them, and they were both riding their backup sleds. Both of them pooped the motors. 1 guy a week after the warranty for the first replacement engine had expired. If you are on a fixed income stay away from the D8.
I've got a Pro 800, and so far the word on the street is they last.
If money is a major issue consider an 07 to 09 700 Dragon. Good power, lasts, good mpg. One of the best all around sleds ever made in my opinion.

If you get the pro with 4k miles just plan on doing new pistons before you get another thousand on it and it will keep running for a long time.

And if you get the dragon to save a few bucks make sure you budget in the fix kit and put it in the instant you get ahold of the sled. If you don't you'll probably join the "polaris sucks cause I can't fix my sled's problems" group and regret buying the d8.

Both are great sleds but the Pro is better in every situation other than initial price.

Agreed, my 08 700 has great power and reliability, it now is my son;s sled and my back up sled, I have had a lot of problems with it finding trees.

I rode a 09 D800 155 with hps can and BB for the last 3 yrs and put on 1500 trouble free miles.I just traded it for a snowcheck pro 155.On good friday my dealer lent me a pro163.After a long 77 mile day of hard boondocking I came away very impressed. This new pro beats down on my old D800 in every way imaginable.Even climbing in the sticky pow it was still pulling hard at 8250.I would never go back to my D800 after that day.My D800 was alway empty @60-65miles.I know I can do 80 under the same conditions with the pro.Like the others said wait and find a pro in the summer.I would pass on the 4000 mile sled as to me thats pretty much worn out.The demo I rode had 1170miles and pulled hard.I am always looking for a deal myself and even though I snowchecked I offered my dealer 2 k less for his last leftover pro 163.I hope he goes for it.If you have some skills which you said you have you will be glad you waited for the pro
