Ok, my son got a ipod shuffle from his aunt. We went and downloaded itunes, and have about 20 songs (He bought) on my laptop. He was sync-ing up to my laptop and everything was great.........

Well, the little ***ger forgot the shuffle in his pants and they went through the washer and dryer...... Well,,,,, the shuffle does not shuffle anymore

Ok, he found a Nano on Craigslist( He saved up his "chores" money and he is paing for it). How do I sync up the nano (Used) to the itunes songs on my puter.

I heard you need to do something on the itunes software to make this happen...........

Should sync up much the same as you did before, except the first time you plug it in it'll pop up a window saying something along the lines of "This iPod is synchronized to another library. Do you wish to overwrite this data?". Click yes, it'll start the sync and shouldn't have any problems again. Click no, you're left with an iPod with someone else's library on it.

Easy as π.

If you bought it used, does it not want you to register it under the original owner's name? Kinda like a lock...I am curious, because I just bought a classic 80.

While we are on this subject, can you transfer others' ipod mp3 files to your i-tunes?

I know I cant with my i phone. If I try and sync from someone elses computer it will erase whats on my phone! I can only download to my computer and sync with my computer.

I am not sure if it is the same with the i pods but it is discouraging with the i phone.

You can tranfer you files from itunes to another computer but not via your ipod.. Use a flash drive.. Anything you have purchased from itunes can only be shared between 5 computers..

But also you can plug your ipod into another persons computer and add their songs to your ipod.. But you would have to change your ipod to the manual mode on your own or else it would erase them when you synced with your own itunes again.

Ya, change your sync settings from Automatically sync with computer to manual, will still sync for you automatically with all you playlists you tell it to, but wont overide.

And yes, other mp3's will work with it, just click and drag them into the window, no probs.

Marcuso - See my post above... The problem is you can't pick songs individually, as they are under funkly names. You would have to copy the whole IPOD over they delet what you don't want.

This sounds like what I want to do............Thanks

huh a flash drive to transfer.

I had a ton of songs I bought on another computer and now on my own computer I used tricks to transfer off my ipod, but the songs won't play unless I'm plugged in, also won't burn onto a disc. Looks like I need me a flash drive.

Ive changed my primary Itunes to 3 different computers.. You just go to where your computers store those files (not straight out of itunes becasue itunes is just referencing those files) put them on a flash drive, Make another itunes folder on the other computer and put them in there... Then, open your itunes and drag the files from the folder to the itunes library and there you got it!!

Whatever you do dont drag the songs from the flash drive straight into itunes caus then itunes reference will be to your flash drive so the songs would only work if the flash drive is connected

Also, re: iTunes purchased song limitations... Burn the purchased files to an audio CD (Use a CDRW) then import that disc as MP3s. No more DRM.

There *are* ways to get music from iPod back to computer, but as said before it's not as easy as dragging and dripping. The lime

I don't own one of these new fangled I-whatever contraptions. Might have to learn how to use one, my last Sony Walkman is worn out. :(

Leave the new stuff to whipper-snappers like Mule. ! LOL.:D
