If you really want headlines, get in touch with Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson. Maybe you can get some air time with them.

I agree with you guys 100%.. however I personally believe it should be the people inside the school that dont agree with it.. that should bring it up to the approriate people.. that way they will have all the complete facts from a first hand person that is inside the system.. because if this gets a lot of press, the facts are going to get tore apart and examined... I'm not saying that I do not want to make a stand.. that is not the case however.. need more than just one person to be heard!
i disagree with this... what you NEED is the right person from outside asking questions...

That is totally BS, what would happen if a white principle did that sh*t with white kids only......SH*T would hit the fan!! They alredy get free college and money from the govn what more do they want. Yes ok....we put them on reservations but that was a long time ago, get over it. They have the ability to be like everyone else to be a productive member of society, and im not saying there arent some who are, but you find most of them unemployeed and drunk. I have some relatives that live by a casino and some of the big wigs that are making millions off the casinos have homes that look sh*tter than cardboard boxes that homeless people live in...they treat their stuff like crap. When I worked at a car dealership changing oil the big head dude from a local casino would come in to get his oil changed. No matter what time of day he was half bombed and was so drunk once we called the cops on him. He would buy a new top of the line truck every 6 months and it was TRASHED in 2 months. They would come in so nasty I would take a smoke break so I didnt have to touch the POS...Oh and I dont even SMOKE!
All local new stations have just been sent an email on the subject onlining the facts and the situation at the school. I guess we will wait and see if they are willing to look into the situation, and place it on the news for the all the rapid city citizens to be aware of the problem

Write a letter to Newspaper, School Board, Mayor. Hopefully that gets the ball rolling.

Hey post the email addresses to the stations. If everyone on snowest would send a quick email like please investigate what the principle at Central H.S. in Rapid is doing it would have to get their attention. I'll send one if you give us the email addresses.
Sent a link to this thread to WCCO in the Twin Cities. We'll see if they respond.
What Fricken BS. Glad to hear you sent some emails. As stated before the snowest guys and gals could send emails to the proper people too. Just list them for us. One person complaining may not do much, but if they have hundreds I doubt they could ignore it. That's OUR tax money and should be used for the WHOLE school, not just the natives.

Couldn't agree more. IMHO, I would avoid any references to this thread since "some" of us were venting a bit earlier. It might not lend itself to the hallmark of PCness.

I have received information involving the school principle that is very disturbing. He has implemented a plan to reward ONLY native american students for a good attendance record and the gifts are quite lavish. Ipod's and large gift certificates are the incentives. The principle himself is native american. I don't see how he can use taxpayer money to benefit only native americans.

Ya hopefully it works.. I would love to see some equality around these parts.. I havent got an email back yet.. but when I mentioned it to my dad.. he mentioned that there might not be a thing a person can do if the school has a gov't fund for native american students and that is what he purchased them with.. dont know if there is such a thing?.. but who knows?
