how long has your kid been riding? if he was 18 he should of known how to put a space blanket on him. maybe he just wasnt taking that situation seriously. not trying to bash you im glad your ok but maybe teach him more survival..... glad your learning your mistakes. That situation would be scary but whats even more scary is leaving your kid. even though it was 30 mins it could turn out worse.... i would be scared.

This is my son's first year riding.
He grew up in Arizona in the low desert.
So there is still a pile he has to learn yet about the mountains and severe cold weather, (as was evidenced by what happened).
His buddy that was with us is a local native who has been riding his entire life. And while he had a pack on his back, I FAILED to inspect it before we left to see what he brought. He had nothing for an over-nighter, and he REALLY did know better.
