There is no doubt that the materials in engine parts now days are far different from those of the 70s and 80s, but the reason manufactureres use forged engine components and lightweight alloys or aluminum is because of the high demand for more power, lightweight, durability, and most of all emissions.... Engines are engines and I work on them every day and whether I rebuild a guys engine that was released to the market last year or 30 years ago the first thing I make sure of is that it gets the living s&$@ ran outta it! I have been fought this process and I have never seen 1 comeback from doing it, but I have seen guys ***** engines out of the box and then u got some problems. Run em how u want, but if there is a tolerance problem in ur new engine! There so close these days It won't run long no matter what u do.
