Intercooler options for Impulse Apex

I am tired of not having a decent hood solution. Has anyone put an intercooler that lays down on an Impulse kit or does anyone have a hood solution that will work with the Impulse IC that really works? I have a CR hood and it has been a total pain and never fit well from the start? I will either go back to a stock hood with the IC sticking up or try to find another option. I know the IC sticks up for a reason but I feel a good flowing lay down IC can't be that much less efficient. Any input would be appreciated?

I have the cr hood once I modified it well it sits on there just fine and fits good.

you bet u can run a mcx, bd, PL, alpine, or cpr intercooler with great results. I have several setups i like the cpr because of the largest surface area its actually double the size of the one you are running, then add the boost-it controller for the smile factor

put a water to air intercooler on....brad story put one on my buddies propane apex and a tm8 they work awesome and dont take up much room

Yep, much more consistant intake temps and it doesn't matter where it's mounted. Downside is to do it right, you need and extra heat exchanger and pump wired in.

so would the engine coolant be used in this air-to-water intercooler or a separate system with a pump and exchanger for better cooling? never seen on but i hear they work well.

I think one would work great on an Apex. For a front or midmount, i'd mount the intercooler similar to an Alpine to keep the charge length as short as possible for best throttle response. Nice to be able to fit a hood on too. Never could get past the looks of an intercooler sticking through the hood.
