intake ? 12 pro

Was cleaning the pro today and noticed there is no filter in the intake box. Went online and looked at a parts diagram and that doesn't seem to be a filter. Just curious what stops water from getting into the engine. Is there something I can't see? I hosed down the sled and may have got some water in there, should I be worried?

Ok I had the hood off and wasn't looking on the console side. Just thought it was strange to see no filter under the hood where the long intake stem is going down into the engine bay. I got a small amount of water in it from the hose while washing the engine bay. Should I be concerned?

Naw, you should be fine.

You don't want water in the motor obviously, but if you got some in the airbox it will just drain out the bottom.

Thx, it was a small amount and I didn't know about it draining out the bottom. I guess the engineers assume snow may get in there at one point. I feel better.

Sled motors are no different than other motors. Clean air helps them live longer.

Every sled I have owned needed attention sealing the air box. Snow dust and belt dust don`t help the rings seal or oil adhere to the walls better.

The more you ride with snow over the hood the more important this can be.
The Pro air box is better than some though.

Every airbox that I've seen has a small drain hole in the bottom for any water that gets in. I wouldn't expect the Pros to be any different.

No Worries!
