Insurance for a turbo

When I felt out my State Farm agent last year about more insurance on my sled, they said that they do not insure sleds with "performance enhancing modifications", but would insure it for more $$ for custom appearance addons that increase the value. I didn't get into it much more at that point.

Where do you guys go for insurance on your turbo? My primary concern is not getting denied if I have a liability loss. Replacing the extra goddies if stolen is a secondary concern.

I have always veiwed Insurance as a scam . I have never been happy when i had to deal with a claim . But that is a story for another day . I rode all of last year without a policy , but i think this year i will just insure the sled as a stock machine.

I have not found anyone that would insure it for 20 K .

I have used Allied and Allstate for turbo sleds

my 09 m1000 turbo is insured for $20,000.

allied didn't care, just wanted to know how much over acv ( actual cash value) i wanted.so if you want 15k on a total loss , and your estimated acv is 8,000, you pay X amount of $ for the additional 7k in coverage.

What are you seeing for rates on your turboed sleds or sleds that you raised the value to say 15K?

I paid $1000 per year for an ACV of $30k on Nytro, $450 for $15k on Cat turbos

I have my sled insured to 20 k and another stocker to 8 k and my insurance for everything there is to offer on both is 450 a year. my turbo sled is a 09 and stocker is 05. thats through Allstate
