I am getting ready to install new tunnel an was wondering if anybody has any good info on installing solid rivets the right way. What tools work the best for the install without wrecking the powder coating on the heads of the rivet? Is there and good pics or vids that somebody might have?

Turn the air down on the hammer a bit, also I put a few small pieces of duct tape in the "cup" of the rivet tool which helps pad the rivet a bit. Most importantly is take your time, make sure your hammer and backing plate are square!

Hmmmm, maybe I'm wrong, but I dont think you will be able to put them on with the powder coat intact. They will at least chip, just paint them afterwards???? I've got to replace Vanamburg and that is what I am going to do.

Please chim in if I am wrong, I've bucked a few rivets, and I don't think you could perseve anything on the head?

IMO

Keep the tool firmly pressed against the rivet head.. practice keeping the hammer and bucking bar 90 degrees to the rivet... make sure that you use the right length rivet and you should be good by following good rivet practices.

Have a look at this vid... Practice for a bit on a dummy part.

Good luck.. post up some pix!!
