Installation and Review: T.S Fabrications HD Nytro Oil Tank

I was going to write to you and suggest you discuss that very item with him.

This would be a great addition to your product line.

It has been on the table for a couple of years... We're just swamped, and I'm slow.

And as usual, I'm one step ahead of you... :biggrin1: :second:

Began the installation of my new Oil Tank this evening.

PLEASE NOTE.

These photos show the tank being installed in front of an MPI SUPERCHARGER.

As such there is a STAND OFF bracket on the top and the bottom that is NOT needed for non-Supercharged Sleds!

Reinstalling the oil level indicator.

The lower elbow

The OEM O-Ring absolutely did NOT fit into the grove on the new Oil Tank.
And I thought I was going to have a real problem with this.
But sure enough, just as soon as the elbow went on top of it, the O-Ring dropped right into proper position.

NOTE.
Make SURE you clean out the filter on the elbow!
Mine was plenty dirty!

Medium Locktight on the bolts.

I see that in the picture the O-RING didn't fitin the groove properly. That is from the Powdercoating. Next one I have Powdercoated I will not have them coat the surface that lower fitting goes on. Thanks for pointing that out Christopher

Seems like it settled right in though just as soon as I attached the elbow.
Will look CLOSELY for any signs of seepage through.
Suppose I could always just use liquid gasket if push comes to shove.

Filled her with oil at long last, and started the engine for the first time with the new supercharger installed.

So far so good.

Used 3.5 quarts total

Finished the install today by plumbing in my Jacobson Rollover Valve and installing a breather down low beneath the oil tank.

I did my best to use existing hose that was left over after my supercharger was installed so I had something with a nice curve in it to go over the edge.

Ran it down the side, used a joiner and added a few more inches of straight oil resistent hose

And added a small K&N Breather at the bottom to control oil misting.

I placed a small square of double sided sticky foam to support the rollover valve from possibly bouncing on the oil tank.

With all the electrical connections back in place.

I don't know how to offer up a "review" of this product.

It installed EASILY

It fits under the cowling without any rubbing or pressure points.

It seems to be working PERFECTLY.

It looks BEAUTIFUL.

It built like the proverbial Brick Outhouse.

I am sure it will stand up to abuse that the OEM tank would never consider enduring.

I really don't know what else to say???

If you are in the least bit worried about a side impact that might result n a catastrophic oil loss, then I would seriously consider ordering one of these tanks.
