went to cooke city this weekend and fouled plug right off the bat then it seemed to run good till we got up around lulu then i would punch it and it would fall on its face and studder if i just eased into it. another thing i noticed was i had black chunks of snow behind me. seems to me its running way to rich what can i do to fix that? I sent the ecu to paul the end of last fall so i think i have the new program. after its warmed up i wont start unless you hold throttle wide open. when i came off the hill and hit the highway the thing ran awesome down the road into cooke and back to pilot creek and i thinks my gps said that was around 6500ft. any ideas what to check for would be appreciated!! thanks

Back your fuel pressure down on your regulator. Might want to put a gauge on it for sure, should be around 38psi.

I seem to be having the same problem. I put a fuel gauge on and it shows about 40 psi. Can fuel gauges be off a few pounds? Are these impulse nytros really sensitive to fuel pressure? If Im off 1 psi will it cause it to run like this?

Im also showing about 10.5 on the air fuel gauge while cruising at steady throttle. Closed loop system. Does this seem rich to you guys?

Thats way too rich for cruising speed IMO, it will be lazy and waste a pile of fuel.

Yes, they can be off, I tried setting mine up last year using the guage I already had and it said 38 but it was 40 when I hooked up a guage that paul had, the fuel pressure needs to be 38 for everything to work right.

the gauges most people run are probably not the most crazy scientific. also, pressure readings will be affected by any decent swing in elevation. and yes, you would be suprised what a few psi in fuel pressure can do. if your turning the snow black, your way to rich.

I rode with a 2871 Race kit with the Boost It system on it, sled worked incredible no matter what altitude it was at. Was super clean bottom end to top end, pulled really hard at WOT.

ya checked my fuel pressure it was around 38 39. i figured once i had the pressure set i was good to go. paul mentioned the closed loop system you think that is a good way to clear all my issues or am i still going to have adjust the fuel pressure? whats the closed loop gunna do for me i guess? dont cars run on a closed loop system? you never have to adjust pressure on them. guess i dont know a hole lot on this stuff. another question if im at 9500 ft and i adjust the pressure so it runs great up there then i go ride at around 6000 ft is the sled going to run lean? whats the symtoms for that scenrio?
