Impulse Apex and Fuel Mileage/Consumption

Just curious what you guys are getting as far as fuel mileage on the big apex. I have had mine out a few times and it runs hard, but seems to be drinking the fuel. Last trip I only did about 45 miles in semi-soft snow with a decent amount of climbing. Used almost 8 gallons of fuel. I may have my a/f ratios a bit rich.

What are you guys seing?

Thanks

Not sure how many miles i got but it wa a good day and not a issue at the least last time i was out. But what are your settings on your box and what where your a/f S reading how much boost as well?

I have the same setup and used close to the same amount of fuel. I am running 15psi on 50/50 mix. Below are my settings:

Green- # 2.5
Yellow- # 3
Red- # 2.5
Blue/Green- # 3.5
Yellow/Blue- # 3.5
Red/Blue- # 4.5

We are running at 6000 feet up to close to 8000, most climbs are about 7000'.

The a/f that I am seeing are: cruising about 45-50mph down trail pulling 5-6psi with an a/f of 10.8-11.1. When I accelerate it is closer to 11.2-11.6 and that is when I pull an acceleration of 10-12psi. At wide open throttle I am like 11.5 if I remember right, hard to look at it when it pulls that hard haha.

The snow to me seemed like a mixture of soft and spring riding. In some climb areas I would have barely made if not made it on my ski doo. In some areas it was a little more hard pack or icy going out to some climbs. We did quite a bit of climbing that day with about 45 miles. It was a little soft after it broke through the crust and then had a harder base when it trenched to the bottom.

Thats rich going down the trail and rich at 15 psi at wot.
Try this...
Green 1
yellow 1
red 2
green blue 3 or even (2.5 but watch the a/f!)
yellow blue 5
red blue 4.5

Try those it will pull harder and run cleaner, im sure you will also burn a little less fuel. You are rich though for my liking thats for sure. Be sure to let the box load after your changes and go back to a solid green.:beer;

Just cruising down the trail at 15-25mph it is ok to see low to mid 13's and would also shoot for 12-12.5 at WOT. To me your too rich.

Thanks for the help. I spoke to Paul also and he said 12.2-12.8 at WOT on 50/50 gas. Sounds like I got some room to tune... On cruising as well. We got 5' of fresh stuff over the past 5 days. Should be a awesome Saturday. Thanks again

gas mileage

I ran out of gas at 80 miles 25 miles in and out on trail. I would think that is about normal had some hard running and took it very easy on trail to save gas. From what I can see i am running in the 12's
The only time I see higher numbers is trailing and not under load more or less just easy going but using throttle I will see high 13's then.:beer;:beer;

green 1
red yellow 1&2
red 1
blue green 4
red yellow 7
red blue 3&4
