Yesterday I buried a friend, he was my age. Many of you guys meet him Freak was kind (or stupid) enough to let him drive the TRex. Stew was a biker he spent more of his last years in jail then out. He could rub guys the wrong way... He was good at that. His funeral was pretty good until his biker "bro" spoke, who want to be remembered for passing out with his pants down, waking up with a big booger hanging out of your nose or how much alcohol you could put away? Seeings how the booze is what killed him I thought it was out of line.
I know we poke fun, it has been brought to my attention that sometimes I can say things that aren't always nice. so before my bad habits take their toll I would like to sincerely ask all I have ever offended their forgiveness. I like to say I never meant any harm but that's not true, there were times I really wanted to get my point out, at all costs. The thing is most of you guys are pretty good dudes, some unfortunately have become dear friends some brothers. I'm going to try and not be so grouchy from now on, thanks.

kevco, I dont know you but I am sorry to hear of your friend. A good friend of mine wrote a saying that I think applies here.

"Be fearless in standing for what you believe. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Society calls this arrogant and closed minded.......don't believe it."

sorry to hear about your bud Kev. So far I've only had to see one friend in a coffin and I don't care to ever again. Stay strong and keep some of the grouch around....it makes me laugh.

Lifes to short, that's what I like about you Kev, you always speak your mind, and you will always be my bro!

I buried my best friend years ago, it is tough, I still miss him. Nothing you can do about it, life goes on....

Thanks guys but I can do better. Longer fuse less quick to go for the "kill shot". WE got some grand memories on the mountain, I hope we got more coming. My buddies funeral taught me one thing, sometimes your image may become who you are. My bud was allot more than a fall down drunk but his "bro" sure thought that who he was.

Oliver Wendell Holmes said

"A moment's insight is sometimes worth a life's experience."

In the same vane Socrates said "An unexamined life is not worth living."

Sounds like you've had an insightful moment that has helped you evaluate who you are and who you want to be.

Congratulations, really.

Few of the posts I read here reflect any measure of insight or self examination and it's refreshing to see that someone that I know, like and admire has thought about his behavior and how it affects others. Keep it up, we all have room to grow into better people then we are today.

Thanks Rich, you put your goat away yet? We need a hero snow ride for all us heros. Dunner bring your hot dog sticks!

My sleds are still out..

and I can put duner on a cat or a doo (with electric start!).. if it's a wise medical decision for him to take a little ride with us.
