I figure since riding season isn't here yet I'd post up and get to know some of you all.

I graduated college in Marquette, MI. Took a job in Denali for the summer, and really couldn't see myself moving back. I found a job with Alaska USA in Anchorage and move to Anchorage on Saturday.

I'm not sure what's ganna happen come riding season. My sled is a 99 mxz 600, with a summit hood, belly pan, 136 extension 1.75 track, slp powder pro's, and I did the Rev seat on the ZX chassis write up on dootalk so I have that too. However I'm out of idea with my sled. I really have no interest in bringing it to AK. It did alright in the UP, but I didn't really enjoy riding there cause I always seemed to get bored.

Hope AK keeps me excited for riding. I am in the market for a sled. I really want to get something fuel injected. I don't really like carbs.

But formally Hello AK riders, names Rob.

Sweet move coming here , last winter was epic ! The sled you have now will do OK but some newer hardware never hurt either . And I may as well say this now and get it over with . . . . Welcome to Thunderdome ! :beer;

Hey Rob,

We will hook up this winter, I ride with a pretty cool group of people but allot of times it is just my dad and I (we work solid all summer but come winter our weeks turn into 3 days long and at least 2-3 riding days a week).

You will never go bored with riding up here, there is too much area and every type of riding you can imagine.

:beer;

thats what I like to hear!

I still wanna see if I can lay my hands on a 155' 07+ RMK, but not sure I'll have the coin

And I'm proud to be in the THUNDERDOME!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can find an 08 700 grab it. My dad has an 08 155 100 RMK, it doesn't have as much power as the 800, but I don't know any one that has had a single problem with the 700, it runs very nice.

Welcome to the AK, Rob. I have family in southern MI, but my folks moved to AK in '61.

That quote, of the conversation with your boss...is she who you will be working for this winter?! Might wanna hold off on the new sled for a bit, if so...

Happy moving day.
John

Welcome! I went to school in Michigan for two years and that's where all of my relatives are from. It was great to party in Grand Haven/silver lake sand dunes in the summers, but i only rode a sled once in Michigan and didn't care to bust it out again(not to mention the time i did pull it out i probably shouldn't have, as there wasn't much snow). Riding in apple orchards and asparagus fields is only fun for 5 minutes.

Again, welcome! See you in the back country!

Cam that's what I was kinda thinking.

John, it was my boss in denali Lol, I so hope people at ak Usa aren't tree huggers Lol.

Well I'm happily moved into anchorage. I'm ganna make it out to dash's bonfire on the 21st.

Anyone that's interested, the 15th is my 22nd and not sure what I'm ganna do yet but there is a run over hatcher pass with the subie crew I may par take in, but after I wanted to stay out in the valley and kick it. If anyone has anything going on? Lmk

thanks guys. You'll know it's me. I drive a super loud subaru legacy, you'll here me a few miles away :rolleyes:

Welcome Rob,
Looks like we will be switching places. These guys will take you riding some crazy places. I have been all over this state in the last 12 years. I love powder riding in the UP but I will really miss riding the mountains here all winter....Buy a becon and get some Avy training before you even go out!

Sell me your dragon! Lol.

I am on nasioc I was trying to join akms but can't get the random generator work to create an account and gave up. I am on Fairbanks forum Lol.

Yeah it's got an 04 wrx swap, no cats no ressies, 3" exhaust, and a race muffler, she's a little rumbly and I have a bad exhaust gasket so she sounds kinda bad at the moment Lol.

I do look forward to meeting you all though.

Maybe I'll make up some home brewed up after riding stew.

That's gonna be ugly when you try to register it in Anchorage. Might wanna start locating some cat's, anyway...you might get the referee station to pass it if it's got cats, but for sure not without, I'm thinking.

That is one of the many reasons I moved out of A town to the Valley...I have been running all kinds of crazy things on my cars and trucks out here over the years. Plus I used to go out to the drag strip once and a while to donate some rubber:rolleyes:

Keep in mind if you plan on trying to get the PFD, all your vehicles must be registered in the State of Alaska by Dec. 31 to claim a full year of residency the following year. You must be registered to vote here as well, and have the ADL....

Food for thought. You can get a waiver, but it is a seasonal waiver and you get tickets if you get caught running it in the winter.
