we are being rationed fuel across the board !! I can't even fill my tanks on my Kenworth at one card lock as there isn't enough fuel to go around ..Petro Canada bulk card locks are taped off all over BC, Alberta, Sask and the other top 3 Esso, Shell and Husky are being rationed 1 super B per day ....46,000 litres ...

luckily I have 4 different fuel cards so I have to go from one to the next to top my tanks ....and it isn't even winter !!!!!!!!!!!!
Every card lock is the same .....lines and lines of trucks just trying to fuel up just to do our daily jobs .....

In Saskatoon there was 500 trucks sitting because no one could fuel up ....
fights are breaking out over whos next in line ...

and untimely as it seems the big 3 are doing routine annual maintenance, or have had serious mishaps or break downs.

You wanna see food and everything else go thru the roof then vote that dink in and we are screwed ....

The USA must drill on their own turf NOW !!!! get it ??

there won't be any alternative super energy in the immediate future period

Note: the Libs and their green agenda need not respond to this as it will just expose them as being completely outa touch and iggnorant to the real facts ...

I suggest that they all park their cars, sleds bikes etc and cut the power lines to their houses as this is the only way to really save the environment ..not beaking off about it.

You ever gonna make it north, we don't have a fuel shortage but I am paying $1.00 more for fuel than my folks are in Idaho.

Actually the REAL reason that there is a diesel shortage is that of the 3 refineries in Alberta, 2 are not producing and 1 is not at full capacity.

Look at the price of oil. It is half of what it was 3 months ago.

If you think that just voting for someone will get an instant increase of drilling, you are mistaken.

H2, what you are suffering, along with all the other transport companies is small oil. Big oil is something totally different.

The U.S. is an energy pig, and needs to trim their fat.

And were paying .50 to .75 more than the rest of the lower 48 states :(

To many tree huggers, we can't drill. The field mouse, or the vole, what ever that thing is or something else. I agree Obama has got to go down. Hell the man from canada can see this why can't we. Some good news tho. On some mason Dixon pole McCain is ahead. Thats funny to me, mason dixon, but it is true.

Crude Oil and Total Petroleum Imports Top 15 Countries
August 2008 Import Highlights: October 14, 2008
Preliminary monthly data on the origins of crude oil imports in August 2008 has been released and it shows that two countries exported more than 1.40 million barrels per day to the United States. Including those countries, five countries exported over 1.00 million barrels per day of crude oil to the United State s (see table below). The top five exporting countries accounted for 66 percent of United States crude oil imports in August while the top ten sources accounted for approximately 86 percent of all U.S. crude oil imports. The top sources of US crude oil imports for August were Canada (1.833 million barrels per day), Saudi Arabia (1.533 million barrels per day), Mexico (1.292 million barrels per day), Venezuela (1.146 million barrels per day), and Nigeria (1.035 million barrels per day). The rest of the top ten sources, in order, were Iraq (0.663 million barrels per day), Angola (0.483 million barrels per day), Algeria (0.348 million barrels per day), Ecuador (0.291 million barrels per day), and Colombia (0.247 million barrels per day). Total crude oil imports averaged 10.284 million barrels per day in August, which is an increase of (0.183) million barrels per day from July 2008.

Canada remained the largest exporter of total petroleum in August, exporting 2.198 million barrels per day to the United States, which is a decrease from last month (2.390 thousand barrels per day). The second largest exporter of total petroleum was Saudi Arabia with 1.573 million barrels per day.

exporting crude is one thing, making gasoline and diesel is another.

You all (Canada) need your refineries back online, and the US needs to build a bunch of them. We need to build them in the safer areas of the US not in the gulf for a hurricane to tear apart.

What does drilling in the US have to do with Diesel in Canada ..... other than the fact that the more drilling the US does to decrease their demand for imported Canadian oil the more jobs in the petro. industry are lost in Canada.

The problem isn't oil ... the problem is diesel refineries, and I highly doubt Obama (or McCain) can do anything about refineries in Edmonton/Lloyd. or Regina.

H2, you are making it sound like us exporting our oil is a bad thing.

It drives our economy greatly. Where does it state that if you are a democrat you do not increase oil production... just curious.
I honestly do not know. Can you find this info (and let it be unbiased)??

The environmentalists pretty much own the democrat party, lock, stock and barrel. The environmentalists don't want refineries.

H2SNOW, you're soooo far off on this one it's not even funny. It's all about refining capacity and there isn't enough when one goes down, let alone 2.5. It isn't an issue with crude.

You will not see any new refineries built any time soon here in Canada because our government can not predict or even speculate what emission laws will be in effect 5-10 years from now. That is how long it will take to build along with a few billion $$$$$$$$. So get use to this fuel pinch....the fun is yet to come! There is no quick fix to this problem, it's a wait and see crap shoot. Is there a reason for four major fuel suppliers to shut down at the same time for upgrades and repairs? You tell me who is really in charge of it all.....definately not our government.

thats retarded ...great yea sure capacity ...sure thing ....read the post above this one ....the part where 4 refineries pick now for upgrades yada yada yada....

somebody wanna tell me why ???

oh yeah right the US owns all of the major oil big boys anyways ....didn't you hear about Opec lately and their scheme to keep us on the teat ...

The reason that US does not build anymore oil refineries is that they do not have the oil on there home turf to supply them unless more drilling is done in Alaska. The lower 48 has no more oil left to be discovered.

Also the major oil companies cannot control oil prices, its all Saudia Arabia. They control the world oil market and its price. What the major oil companies produce is nowhere near what Saudi can do. Saudi oil cost 1.50/ barrel from the ground to the Tankers, much lower than anywhere in the world.

And they actually make more money when oil is reasonably priced because consumption goes up. If oil was to high no one buys it and they flood the world market essentially driving the price down at the same production rates. Opec cutting rates will not drive the price back up overnight but it will slow its fall.

The sad part is that Saudi Arabia holds the Western World hostage and there is nothing we can do about it when they can produce oil much cheaper and more abundant than anywhere else in the world.

If you're gonna be like that, fine.

I could care less if you have fuel. I have lots and no danger of running out anytime soon. Federated Co-ops guaranteed supply to all their cardlocks. Not to mention they're doing a huge expansion in Regina.

Give us hell H2, the total known reserves within the US, Anwar, off shore and oil shale dwarf the Saudi reserves and if our voters can't see the writing on the wall we deserve the government we get. Keep the oil coming, gas under 3.00, thanks Canucks. Swampy:D:D:beer;

alls I can say is ......"Just Wait "...........mark my words and ....suck wind in 09

Not sure if your aware of this Beels but Co-op has a contract with Petro Can. They buy 90% of there fuel from Petro Can and contracts must be honored. So that works good in your favor but now my Petro Pass card is only good for opening the shower door, hahaha. The refineries in the US are old and tired. Maintenance and repairs are none stop. Here in Alberta there is four key players; Shell, Esso, Petro Can, and Suncor. All are under maintenance or restructure/repair of some sort. There is no oil shortage but a refinery shortage. There are oil and gas reserves that are untouched simply because of seasonal access or political stumbling blocks. It's there, just expensive to get.
