I'm ALMOST done!

killer post! great pics, great captions! now i want to listen to some old school rock n' roll, eat some ice cream, and i know how to say theirry's name! very valuble info for the 600 owners out there...take note on the small things in here

Hey guys I'm having so much fun with this Excel calculator I made for calculating the gear ratio and top speed, you gotta try it. It sure is not rocket science but i think it's pretty cool anyways and want to share it.

"Theory" would actually be the closest thing to the right pronounciation of my name. But everybody just says "Terry" and i'm fine with that !

You kids and your computers, I've had that formula for at least 7 years on the same piece of paper. Just use my handy dandy calculator and done. Now you go and make it all fancy, LOL

Ive always wondered how to prononce Theiry's name..
I am very happy with my taller gearing, but only running a 136..
Things might be much different with the elev at Hawkfest..

It's going to be way better than it was...

I had most of the weight still in the primary - the secondary was still set as it was new in Nov of '04 for the flat landers, and with the slight gear down and with no more KA-KA-KA-KA torque limiting right when you want it most, It's gotta be way better than it was before!

Nice Work!!

And very nice post! Thanks for the info and all the pictures!
And yes, I could tell where every piece on the table came from...is that a good or a bad thing??
Great people and info on this forum thats for sure.

See you all at Hawkfest!

So i was wondering where I will get a track if mine ever lets go. Just noticed a few days ago i'm missing a lug on my 503 short track.
Don't know if i will be able to buy one from ad bovin when the time comes.

So would I be able to use something else if it has the same pitch and cut it down ? won't be curved .what about the size of these lugs?

Just curious

Can somebody tell me if a guy was to order a new, out of the box 121" track from ADB, Would he get the straight lug style or the new style lugs with ice screws dedicated/integrated "fingers" (like the 136" '07 and '08 models ?)

What's the retail on them ?

Les ?

What do you mean by straight lug, flat across the top. My 503 is convex across the lugs from side to side. Is this the way they came.

I really am going to have to get out more and see other hawks !!!!!!!

Until last month I thought mine was the only one lol

track lugs

best way to describe the newer lugs is that ours look like the letter "I" and the newer lugs look like the letter "A". they have a larger base to keep them from breaking off...come to hawkfest, you see everything there. or come to buffalo and ride with Pat and i, he has the newer 136 on his 600

Those are really not that good photos but you can see that, integrated in the lugs, there's these round sections that looks like a finger. This is so if you want to put screws in, there's more meat around these screws, it holds them better and also doesn't allow the lugs to bend as much (that's a good and bad thing).

So far i've only seen '07 or newer 136" tracks having those, wondering if a guy orders a new 121" track if he'll get that style or the "straight" lug style design ('06 and prior).

i was told...

...2 years ago that the 121 track hasnt changed, if wanted the new design had to go 136 with kicked up extensions. the crazy guy my friend pat got his 600 from 2 weeks ago had the 136 and kicked up extension on it and he said ad boivin had no 121 tracks left....i havent called adb on it so i cant say for sure if the 121 tracks are gone

I think if I was to get a short track I think i'd go with with a Ripsaw Lite 1.75" by 120" (2.86 Pitch). Narrow it down to 12.75" wide and profile it. It would probably hook up better than the stock lug design and look at all the spots you can screw screws in ! Sure wouldn't be a crazy good deep snow track but you'd still smoke any 121" trail sled in the fluffy stuff !
