If you didn't ride a M series, what would you ride?

To all the guys saying Polaris is where they'd go, is it because it's more similar to a Cat than a Doo? What other reasoning are you basing your decision on? Based on Poo's reliability as of late, I won't be buying one anytime soon.

You'd never catch me on a doo. The Polaris sleds look awesome and in theory should perform well. Part of it is also that their handling is similar to a Cat.

I had money down on an 800 Polaris last year but luckily the dealer pissed me off and a week later a new M1000 was in the garage. With their lack of reliability I won't be considering a Polaris again unless they make some major changes. If I was looking for a 600 or 700 I'd still want to try out a Polaris though.

If the wife and kids get their way, I too will be riding a Yamaha again sometime in the future. They are not one bit happy about me riding a Cat. Especially since I got my first tow home in many years on one last week.

I guess if I didn't have an M now I'd still be riding my old 900 RMK .... heh :o

Build my own again. Dragon chassis, 800 dragon block with 2008 IQR600 cdi, bored carb's, twin pipes. Nephew had this engine built out of 2008 IQR600, case mod and the mono block bolts on, uses stock cdi and carb's. I know carb's, this computer thing has to many variables.

Id settle for an 04-07 rev 800 with a 151-16 wide chall extreme. But I just cant see myself ever getting off my cat.

If I couldn't ride an M the Polaris Dragon/Raw chassis would definitely be my next choice. Really like the 700. Not overly impressed with the 800.

The M is more nimble boondocking but the Dragon is one of the few other sleds I feel pretty comfortable with in the powder. Lays over easy and pretty nimble.

Next up would be a Yamaha of some kind. Supercharged Nytro most likely.

I have lost all faith in Ski Doo. Ever since the 800s and the Revs came out I've seen more blown engines and more problems then all the other brands combined.

The 800 HOs seem to blow up a lot and then the R motors came out and while I thought it couldn't be any worse then what they already had, it was.

Then the collection of 08 XP problems.

Honestly I feel like Doos are kind of the 6.0 Powerstrokes of the sledding world:)

In other words there were a crap ton of problems (hear better things about the 09s and 10s) but the poor saps that got stuck with older ones had a lot of problems. And there were a few descent ones but not many.

I haven't hopped on an XP, but for me, the REV handles like a tank and is just plain hard to lay over. I have zero interest in riding them. Spent a bunch of time on various years and models. I haven't heard much better about the XP either.

So, until Doo completely changes motors and chassis, I wouldn't even think about buying one.

I too like the Polaris Dragon 700. The 800 engine issues scared me off when I was looking.

The reason I got towed home was I had a coolant leak. It was a slightly larger than a pin hole and didn't leak at home but once the sled came up to operating temperature the hose swelled and out came the antifreeze. We couldn't add water fast enough to get the sled off the hill without the temp light flashing so I asked for a tow back to the truck. No bigee.

Yet the wife and kids now think Cats suck because I never had to be towed out when I rode my MSRX or RX-1.
