From what I can find out, and all the reputable aftermarket guys will tell you this, the Cat 1100T maxes out at about 215HP with the stock turbo. That said, for $2000 in parts and maybe $1000-1500 in labor(head studs mainly) you can get a REAL 240HP with the Cat. I think where the Cat really makes up the money on the Yamaha is everything else. Suspension, steering, fuel tank, weight, etc. If you build it yourself it looks like a Yami is 22-25K, Cat is 17-19K for basically the same thing.

if anyone is doubting that the cat 1100 can make big power, go to haydays and see Glen Hall's sled run. its incredibly fast. last year it was Running right with the OSP yamahas which are in the 600hp range. Obviously it is heavily modified with a giant turbo, but its the 1100 motor.

Interesting question.
I honestly don't know.
But it wouldn't surprise me if MPI offers it across the board.

Christopher that is great news for MPI customers. Their sled company is called Evolution Powersports. These are the guys that are doing great things with the Cat 1100T. Their HUGE advantage is in tuning. The Cat is running all the stock engine protection and elevation/condition compensation features. You aren't tuning and fiddling you are riding. The other area they bring to the sled world is their knowledge and design of turbochargers and compressor wheels. They are basically taking design work that was paid for by their Motorsports work and bringing it to sleds. There is not enough money in snowmobiles to pay for the technology they are now using on sleds. Lucky these guys are sledders or we would have never even seen the trick stuff they can do.

I have a supercharger nytro and a turbocharged nytro both are MPI. I've only had one problem with the supercharge. The GEMs controller had two wires switched. Once it was fixed I haven't had a problem since. My supercharge sled has three season about 1500 miles and my turbo was new last season about 600 miles. I installed the SC myself and had Outlaw Motorsports install the 240hp turbo. They both are pretty trouble free. The only problem I had was the one time with the GEMs. I've been happy with the product. I went with MPI because of the fit of their product and price. I hope with increasing demand on boost system prices drop. Arctic Cat new turbo can be turned up to 240 HP for less the $600. Total price around 14500.00 new hard to get that price for a nytro. My sleds I have 22K each and I bought them new for 7400K each. I've learned the hard way and listed to peoples options on TY4strokes forum. My next sled will be different.

It is always great to have peeps ideas and experiences to base our decisions on. I run Yamaha. I have run cat, doo and polaris. I really like the new polaris. Not saying I don't like the rest but the Po is the one that stands out in the handling department. Doo works great but doesn't fit me as well as Po. Kitty doesn't seem to work for me at all. i'm a short lightweight rider. The ladies were riding cat a year ago, now a lot are switching to Po. Very few are riding Doo. I am not comparing myself to the ladies... I ride a turbo Nytro... but I too know that the ladies are riding the sled that works for them. Most of the lady riders I know weigh in well under the male riders. They are less aggressive riders... not taking away from them because I have seen some of them that can probably give me a run for my $$$, but... realistically I see a lot of male riders as aggressive in comparison. This does not mean that Po has the ultimate ride it only means it is a sled that fits smaller frames and is easier to ride for smaller, lighter riders. This pretty much meets my dimensions and specs.

I am sure I have close to 500 km on the new pro last year. My Yammy is pushing the 4000 km mark. I have finally got to the point I am very comfy on the Yammy. In actuality, I miss my Yammy when I am not riding it. I have a snow check Po on order. I have a large dilemma... boost or no boost. It is a hard thing to go back to stock... but.... a stocker in the trailer as a backup is pretty sweet. Mind you a smoking, kick a$$ 2 stroke booster is an even cooler backup!!!

I spent a large $$$ on my Yammy. Was it required? Could I have done better? Could I have done it cheaper? These are questions that those of us who have been there done that can answer. I like to hear stories like this that point us in directions we would never have looked at if someone had told us before hand. I never had anyone to help me when I bought my sled. I'm not complaining... I love my sled... It is freaking awesome!!! I added Neils BOOST IT fuel system and it just plain rocks!!! I am actually considering his system for my new Pro.

For those considering the turbo option CAT has a wicked 4 stroke from the factory with simple upgrades. It is not my choice but it is a great choice for those who the sled fits.

Before you buy... talk or listen to the peeps here who have BEEN THERE DONE THAT!!!

Come to Washington next winter and bring you snowmobile. Don't get me wrong I have blue boold, but my friend is selling his 270 impulse 25k sled to go with a 240 HP kitty cat. Our friend got a cat last year and did a few mods to increase boost and he climbs everything we do with 10k in his pocket. It hasn't been dyno to show on papper the 240 HP but that doesn't matter because the snow doesn't care. His sled performs hand down much better than when stock. If you want to come out to ride let me know. I'm always looking for people to ride with.

Sorry gents... there is always controversy over what is best. I saw a Cat last year that was amazing! I have also heard stories of the Doo 4 stroke up and coming Kick Yammies butt!!! Never seen it!!! Setup and funding are the big factor. Yamaha is proven. Yamaha has a huge selection of kits to juice em up. The rest are behind on the four stroke tech. Cat is probably the one that stands out from the rest. I like the simple add on up to the 240 hp. I understand there is a 275 kit that is pretty much as easy. I saw the 240 kit, it worked very well. I spoke to a Cat dealer and he said no prob with 240 and warrantee.... seems good to me.... . Still My Yammy pulling 15 - 18 lbs c/w M-10 and 162 x 16 makes so many look like stockers.... I have been running 15 lbs boost consistently and occasionally pushed 18 for kicks. When you go past the 250HP mark it just gets more addicting!!! I may do some engine mods and do a fuel system upgrade for the next season and push the 18 lb limit of my system... just for kicks!!! I am seriously thinking my snow check pro needs a Boost It kit. Yep if that happens... Yammy is going for 22 lbs!!! Who knows Propane may be the next in line. The skies the limit!!!

Why the heck didn;t i buy a used sled..!!...all my upgrades would have talen care of any issue a used sled would have had..

The savings buying used would have paid for a good portion of my aftermarket..

i know what you mean, i did the same thing with my nytro last year, BUT i find it half the fun to research parts and build my own sled from scratch. im obviously not in this sport to save money!
