Idler on Inside vs Outside

Has anyone had any problems with running rear idlers on just the inside of the track?

I have a big wheel kit, and the outside idlers for my kit make it a pain to adjust the track if needed, so I put my idlers on the inside only. Only issue that was pointed out was that since my track is ported, there might be too much stress on the track.

Thoughts??

I'm on the other side, I've had nothing but problems running 2 wheels. Blow bearings, broken axles, etc. I've gone to a 4 wheel setup because I got tired of changing bearings in parking lots and swapping axles in the backcountry.

The 4 wheel axle setup has worked for years without changing any parts. The 2 wheel kits required fixing every 300-500 miles.

I have put 1000's of miles on 2 wheel kits with no problems. Never had to replace bearings or shafts. Have run wheels on inside or outside, ither way no problems. Like AZ800 said most new sleds are 2 wheel set ups now.

I never bought into the 2 wheel hype. But I'm a bigger guy and I've never had a problem pulling over a sled while sidehilling. Seen way to may guys limping back to the trailer in the middle of the day with broken wheels or blown out bearings.

Thanks for the input. Yea, I haven't really had a problem laying the sled over when there were 3 on it. I ordered 2 new wheels from Avid, and will be putting them on as soon as they show up. Going to go with 4 cuz I don't feel like taking the inner idler section back apart.

I hadn't really thought about the bearings or idlers blowing up, as much as I was thinking with my track being ported that my track might shred from too much pressure from 2 wheels.

Thanks again.
