It looks just like you said on the phone. Guess we are really in for it tomorrow. Get that dead cat runnin so we can go next week man! Headn' to McCall on Tue-Thu so we have some options.

groomer fun
talk about powder! the groomer got stuck up near thorn creek butte on saturday so it spent the night on the mountain. nine of us including both operators rode up today and hand shoveled it out to get it turned around so it could return to idaho city. lots of work but what a fantastic way to spend superbowl sunday!

Anybody been up there in the last couple days? We are gonna be up there on friday through sunday. Wondering what the snow is like.

guys it appears the engine in the groomer is wounded and may be terminal.
so the trails are not going to be very good for the next couple of weeks at least. it was in boise being checked out today and does not look good. will update you if it gets fixed.

no i think it's a 2002 pb 100 with about 2900 hrs on it. according to idaho dept. of parks and rec. it has to last one more year before it is do for replacement.

well i talked to the idaho city groomer coordinator tonight, and the engine in the groomer is bad. he is trying to find a complete engine to replace it so we can hopefully save the last few weeks of grooming for the idaho city area.
i have heard that the bottom end of the trails are getting quite rough, so
hang in there and hopefully they will get fixed soon.

i am pretty sure it is not. i plan to call the groomer coordinator later in the week, as it was only last friday that he was looking for an engine to replace the old one. some of us rode from whoop um up past the jackson peak area and found some good powder on sunday. the main crooked river trail is getting a little rough however.

So what is the latest on the groomer and the trail condition? Thinking about taking the girl there on Sunday and need to know if we need to pack a kidey belt or not.

groomer has not been on the trails since feb 8. i hear the trails around centerville are still pretty good {strawberry and buckskin} the last i heard the new engine should get to boise around the 5th or 6th of march and then it will need to be installed.

Thanks for the update. Did anybody brave the trail woops and rain today? Guessing it may be better to head somewhere else tomorrow. Mostly looking at the trail ride option for the girl...

the new engine has been delivered to the shop that is doing the replacement and they have dedicated one mechanic to install it. our operators and coordinator have already removed the tiller and tracks for access, so maybe in the near future it will get back to grooming the trails.

idaho city groomer update
march 20th the shop got the rebuilt engine installed and running only to here a noise in it. upon checking into it deeper it appears to have a scored cylinder wall, most likely a broken ring at installation time. another engine is to be delivered on the 31st and then another week to install.

Thanks for the update man. That sucks to work that hard on something only to have it go to crap so quick. Guess that will be good for next year at least.
