I want to ride.... Is it possible?

Just picked up some sleds on the cheap. It was a deal that I couldn't pass up. Is there any riding left to be had??
Mirror Lake maybe?

I am new to the area. I live in Heber, and I'd love to take the sleds up to do some testing. I'll provide the sleds (or trailer your sled up there) if someone wants to give me a tour.
I have 4 Arctic Cats 95-97 and a 4 place trailer.

Let me know if anyone wants to go. It would have to be Sunday this weekend.

Steve

Like I said in the previous "Mirror Lake Update" post there is a big bike race this weekend, so beware. You can still park by Bald Mt. area and find plenty of snow. Watch for slush pools and rocks:eek:

Okay sounds good. Is the bike race on Sunday also??

How do I get to Bald Mtn. area? Sorry, I'm new. I know how to get to Strawberry Reservoir -- could someone give directions from there?

Steve

Go to mapquest.com and type in Kamas Ut. From there you should be able to find your way. I assume you know where Heber is. Find your way from Heber to Kamas via hwy 32 (goes by Jordanelle Res.). From Kamas follow hwy 150 up into the Uintas. Bald Mt. is at the very top of the canyon. I have a cabin up there and will be playing in the dirt instead of riding sleds. Mines totalled. Be sure and stop at the Samak General store and get the best jerky in the world. Let me know if you need more help. I don't mind helping a fellow sled Brother.

Thanks for the information

I know where Heber is, I live in Heber.
I can bring you a sled if you want to ride. I'm going to try and make it up there on Sunday during the day and do some testing.

Thanks again.

Hey Steve, got room for two more on your group? my friend and i got the itch for one more ride.:D we're coming from the ogden area so we would meet you some where with our sleds. we don't know the area but would like to tag along.

My group is so far just me, maybe my wife, but I'm not even sure about that. She might come if I have nobody else to go with me.
I'm thinking sunday morning drive up to the bald mountain area....

We could meet up there Sunday morning. I just bought some older sleds for cheap (late 90's stuff), so I'm up for a little or a lot of riding.

I would have interest in joining in. I've never ridden in June before.

Well stick a fork in it cause its done. Went over mirror lake (got nasty looks and yelled at by some bicyclers) over to bald mtn and its rocks for the most part. We made it around the side of baldy to a couple hills and messed around for a bit but getting up there is sketchy at best.

I rode motorcycle up there today just t have a look and see if I wanted to spend the big diesel dollars to go up. It looks like some snow and a lot of rocks.

sounds like last weekend to ride if you can get around the rocks. sucky:mad: what to do now?

Took the dirt toys up today. We went off mirror lake onto elizabeth mountain road, then on to Millcreek canyon road, and up onto the burns on Elizabeth. Riding Elizabeth is done. There was still a ton of snow on top (about 2 miles past the old cabin) but there is noway you could get up there. It was solid snow at the 5th switchback goin to the top. Someone pulled an amazing chute just west of the old cabin recently..

Just got home from the cabin. We came home over Mirror Lake. It is definitely over. Saw some guys unloading across the road from the mirror lake turn off about 4:00 pm. I pulled off to watch just to see how they were going to get out. But they were too slow so I left. Looked like you would need a "Trials Sled" just to get through the rock fields.
Hey Makaveli: we rode up to Elizabeth on the bikes till be encountered snow. I think a guy could trailer up and still ride. Holy Crap:eek: did I put my wife to the test. We were riding on ice/snow, blasting 2 foot mud puddles and some nasty muddy ruts. Hit some cool side roads coming out. She totally impressed me. I learned I need to stop and get the camera out more.

Top of Elizabeth. Got pretty ugly from here

Little bit of run off

Nasty river crossing stopped us on this one.

If you can get to the Tower by Moffit I see some chutes that you can still climb. This shot is from the road coming in from Evanston. Note: Full Zoom

Nice pics. You guys came at it a different way then we did. We went up on it off a little side road off millcreek that switchbacked up. It was getting deep the closser we got to the top! I'm surprised we didn't see you! we road above christmas medows saturday and elizabeth today. Most fun i have ever had on a fourwheeler, we just spent the day busting through snowdrifts!

hehehehe, killer! GP mentioned over on the LR forum that you posted on here, thought i'd see what you had to say vs what she said!!! Looks like she did impress you, enough that you would post it too!! Atta girl!! I've been givin her little hints on the LR forum but I'm thinkin it's not just that that's makin her ride like a supa star!!

She also posted pics of her skinned up knee -I lectured her to get her gear on!! Hopefully she'll be takin it more seriously but it sounds like she's not fully set up... c'mon hubby! hook your little ripper up!! ;) (I'm causin trouble! And here I am the jacka$$ who wasn't wearing a tek vest when I lawn darted on my sled!! hahahahaha)

Anyway, great to hear she's doing well, those trails look like tons o fun!! Crossin that creek looks like it woulda been a bit jarring!

Yeah I know. I just had to be sure it was her sport before I ended up purchasing garage wardrobe wall paper. I bet she didn't tell you the whole story behind her crash. Clue=:beer;:beer;:eek:. That's all I'm sayin. Anyway we'll be heading down to Motofrugals very soon. She acually has a moto-tek vest and knee guards already. Thanks for all your advise for her. She really seems to soak it up. Cheers :beer;

Ya, she admitted what happened! That' the fun thing about the LR forum... We admit what idiots we can be sometimes!! ;) I do it on here too 'cause I just don't care but some ladies don't like the teasin they might get on here so they save the 'admitting mistakes' for the LR forum!

Ya, I think she's hooked so no worries there! And she just got busted out again for not wearing stuff she had so it should start sinkin in... It's just, you know us ladies... we like to look geeeewwddd! Don't like wearing crappy old stuff! We like the BLING! ;) Anyway, hopefully one of these days I'll get to ride with you guys. Dirt or snow! I'm working with Kelsey from RKTEK on some motor mods this summer so next year he'll be helping me dial her in! I promised I'd come down there to ride at least once so he can see what he's gotten himself into!! ;) I'm super stoked to be workin with him, seems like he has a great product and I can't wait to have a rippin machine under me!!

Enjoy the summer and keep gettin GP out, one of these days I'll swing through town and be lookin for a ridin buddy! ;)
