I saw it! Chris burandt/boondocker turbo m8!!

Makes sense to me that once these dealer option turbo sleds start to flood the market the price will drop, at least on used or trade in's. $ 14-$ 15K sounds low IMHO, saw a dealer option (?) TD-8 @ the 509 premire last fall that had a $18K sticker price. The way I see it they'll be like ford explorer's afterawhile, B so many of them out there it'l be a buyers market. As far as having a dealer set it up rather than just get the turbo from Boondockers could have some benifits, dealer would know how it was set up, might "work" w/ ya a little more when you have issues, and they should get pretty good at settin 'em up after awhile. Just my thought .

that was allsports turbo set up and their price seems steep to me. we built an 08 m8 w/ bd race gas kit last year. Took it our and rode it twice, put 50-100 miles on it and got it dialed in. sold it for $15,500. Guy that bought it loves it, hasnt had to change a thing in 400 miles. if i remember right they had on their list of things done to the sled a labor charge of more than $1500.

Cat Warranty will be voided as soon as the turbo is installed for the people that are asking. Of course, if you have enough cash to pay that price, then it really does not matter, blow the motor and pay out of pocket to fix it or fix it yourself.

comments like that make me laugh. just because people have turobs doesnt mean their rich, just means their dedicated to a sport they love doing and can spend the money to enjoy it to its fullest. with all the mod shop/dealerships anymore its not hard to get small things warranteed, now if you gernade a motor due to leaning it down stupid sh!t like that ya good luck. but if its something bluntly related to being a warranty issue and has nothing to do w/ the turbo system most dealers will still help a guy out.

I agree. People always say if you can afford a turbo you can afford race fuel. that isn't always true. I am interested in a pgm8. I have a mcx nytro if I want more power. I don't need someone telling I am rich or what I can afford. The other thing I can't figure out is why everyone is so hung up on this warranty thing. If you want warranty don't buy aturbo . Or get a factory one that won't even be close to what Bd is selling.

Yup, not rich here either. I just manage my money differently than some. I don't take vacations, I go sledding. I don't have car payments, I have a newer sled with a new turbo. I didn't buy one single lightweight part, I bought a turbo instead. I don't have cc debt, I have a mortgage. It's all about priorities. My wife knows that for 5 months of the year I'm going riding on the w/e, no discussion, well, very little discussion.;)

I did not mean that the entire warranty would be gone, just grenading the motor. There are rumors floating around that you get an M8 turbo with a factory warranty, I was just stating that you do not get that warranty, at least as far as the engine goes. As far as being rich, it has nothing to do with it, if you can afford a Turbo, then you can afford to fix it. That is all I was trying to say. Would I love to have a turbo, who wouldn't. Not once did I say a person was rich, I said if they can afford to get a turbo, they can afford to fix any issues. If not, you should not be buying something you can not afford, be it a turbo sled, or anything else in life, unless it is a matter of life and death. Of course some people would say a turbo sled is a matter of life and death. There are people all over that buy items they can not afford and are able to make the payments, but when something happens in there life, be it little or big, they have to sell off their assets. And then there are people that can pay cash for everything, more power to them. If a person is rich, great, I applaud you. If you are not so fortunate, great, do what you can ot live a healthy life and have fun.

Talk to the guys at Mountain Valley Motorsports in Cody, WY. Sounds like a good group of guys. I asked them about a couple turbo sleds and got some info. They did say that they have a Chris Burandt RTR m8 in the showroom. Not saying that they are out of line on there price, but I was expecting the package to be in the 14-15 range and it went for just shy of 19 with tax.

n/a sled looses 3% per 1000'
boosted sled looses around 1% per 1000'

i would love to see cat come out with a factory turbo... but 2stroke? maybe a 4stroke

without dialing it up!!! If your pushing the same amount of boost the power dosnt decrease its basic air fuel mixture!! Am i mistaken that those turbos arnt adjustable?

WHAT??? Turbos lose hp at elevation just like any motor. The difference is how much. A turbo just doesnt lose as much. Thats what he was talking about with corrected hp.
At sea level a T800 is makin 200+ but at 10k its prolly like 175hp. Just the facts mam. Sorry but its the way the cookie crumbles. I know my turbo doesnt care because it just doesnt fall off as much as the NA sleds. Just fyi I would not willingly own a NA sled ever again.

Turbo's MAY loose power at elevation, but the glory of a turbo is you can turn up the boost. Pump gas guys here (riding 9k-11k) runt 8+ lbs of boost with no race gas pre-mix. Therefore, you can correct any lost power simply by turning a knob!!

Rexburg Motorsports 208.356.4000 has a 2010 M8 Boondocker Turbo in stock ready to go. Lots of other custom sleds too.

Looks like Chris Is going to start putting turbo's on POO's now, he Is know longer a cat man any more, I'm sure Rocky at Boondockers will be putting turbo's on his Poo's now!!

why quit riding a sled that is so dialed in as the turbo m series? maybe poo is offering a bigger check, both companies are making good sleds cats are just a bit better in the boondocking department

you keep tellin yourself that...

Personally, i think with today's sleds the rider is more of a limiting factor than the sled.
