I saw it! Chris burandt/boondocker turbo m8!!

is this RTR thing really a big deal? I mean couldnt you go to any turbo builder and get the same thing? OK, maybe you might have to make your own sticker but woopdeedo. No seriously, the RTR thing is nothing but a fancy wrapping job. this is not a factory Cat turbo, which would be a big deal.

Kind of have to agree. Not saying the sled is not very nice and all, it is, but it can be replicated.

I agree to a certain extent..but one thing to think about.....If they can start selling turbos as a package deal already on the sled for you at the dealership, then they might actually get the price down to where it is affordable. Atleast thats what I am hoping comes from this. Paying 1/2 the sleds value over again for the a turbo i hard on the wallet.

the first two sleds on the right side are two of Chris's RTR m8 turbos, last i heard the price was aimed to be around 14-15 grand.

But you get a Hotdogger on this setup.

Seems to me this would make them more expensive. IMO I think if you run a turbo you should put it in yourself but thats just me. A sled is not going to be cheaper because it has a turbo on it, its a lot of work for a dealer to install a turbo so they are going to want to make money on the install as well as the kit. I dont see how this would make them less expensive unless BD drops their price.

I see what you are saying...I guess its just wishful thinking. I kind of hope that turbos on sleds are like when computer first started coming with a dvd burner option and how it cost so much...and after a few years they became a standard and the price came down.

Does anybody sell these remote res. for the fox floats as an add on that they are using? I have not seen them yet?

I know you can get the "Burandts" sled from Tom at Mountain Valley Motorsports in Cody, WY. He had one of the sleds done and has also done a few of his own for customers. The sled does rock and is a blast to ride. It's not going to compete with the 4 strokes, but it wasn't built to.. Tom can get you the $$$'s and get you the pros and cons on the "Burandt" vs building your own.

Mass production = less cost

Makes sense to me that once these dealer option turbo sleds start to flood the market the price will drop, at least on used or trade in's. $ 14-$ 15K sounds low IMHO, saw a dealer option (?) TD-8 @ the 509 premire last fall that had a $18K sticker price. The way I see it they'll be like ford explorer's afterawhile, B so many of them out there it'l be a buyers market. As far as having a dealer set it up rather than just get the turbo from Boondockers could have some benifits, dealer would know how it was set up, might "work" w/ ya a little more when you have issues, and they should get pretty good at settin 'em up after awhile. Just my thought .

the whole package including the shocks/rear skid/turbo is $6500. if you're looking for a turn key pump gas set up this is it. they are basically set up to boondock in the trees. there really isn't a lot that you can't do on one of these machines. rode one for 3 days and was very impressed.
