My dealer showed me his new toy today. He sent an 09 M8 Sno Pro to Boondocker in Idaho Falls in early December, and it returned today as the Chris Burandt special. Super cool fox floats with remote reservoirs, and some other cool updates. And oh yeah, a pump gas turbo making 200hp. It was an awesome looking sled. He says they are working on making them available for 2010. They'll probably be an option that could be bought at your cat dealer, but they will not come from Cat. They will come from Boondocker, because of all the liability hoops that Cat would have to jump through...

No, I didn't have my camera with. It basically looks like an 09 sno pro. New stickers on the hood, and these crazy new remote reservoir fox floats that are mounted upside down.

why can't they come from the factory with the turbo??? they had no problem with the T-660 being a production sled. i would guess the reliability factor is the main reason... i think this is a good thing for everyone, once they become more available the cost should start to plummet, 5-6k is WAY overpriced for what the system is worth, just take a look at what it costs to get a turbo setup for a car...

b/c the t-660 wasn't making 200+hp. That's a ton of bang out of a two cylinder, two stroke motor as we all know.

....what's the hp for the fourstroke turbo at sea level, 175 or so?....a turbo m-8 on pump gas makes about 200-210 corrected hp, but at 7-11 k, is much less.....liability doesn't seem to me to be the problem, reliability/ warranty/money issues probably are......:(

that would be cool if it was from cat.

But you can buy a turbo direct from BD instead of going through a dealer and paying more mark up

i rode the new burandt edition M8 turbo RTR in december.....holy crap does that sled rock!! he's got 2 for rent if you book a tour and it's well worth it IMO. zero lag on the turbo, tons of power, and very light.....fuuun!!! this seems like the backcountry weapon of the future to me.....give one a try if you get the chance. nice job on the sled chris, boondocker, and arctic cat!!

WHAT??? Turbos lose hp at elevation just like any motor. The difference is how much. A turbo just doesnt lose as much. Thats what he was talking about with corrected hp.
At sea level a T800 is makin 200+ but at 10k its prolly like 175hp. Just the facts mam. Sorry but its the way the cookie crumbles. I know my turbo doesnt care because it just doesnt fall off as much as the NA sleds. Just fyi I would not willingly own a NA sled ever again.

i wouldn't say zero lag.

ok then....."near-zero" lag. the power felt immediate to me and it was easily the most fun-to-ride sled i've ever been on! wouldn't say my skills do it justice yet but i can see myself owning one of these things someday soon!

as far as Burandt's Backcountry Adventures goes.......check out Chris' website and all of the info should be on there. you can book from there or conact Chris directly by email. www.burandtsbackcountryadventure.com

what kind of price tag are we looking at here? waranty?? turn around time? interesting concept though.

Available next year?!? I was considering buying a end of the year 09' but maybe i will wait to see about one of these. Any idea if this is a for sure thing or is it just a rumor??

I talked to Chris and it sounds like its a pretty for sure thing! And if it isn't I would get in line to buy one of Chris' well set up turbos at the end of the year as he either sells them or gives them back to cat. His turbos rip!!!
