Moldy if u dont mind me asking what are u making?
The job starts at $39000, but there is a big raise at the end of each of the first two years. So after that it is in the $46-47000 range. I've been doing it for six years and am a driver making in the $51-52000 range. These numbers are base wage, not counting overtime, which can be another $2-7000 depending on how available you are to come in.
Black tooth- this is true, our department gives 5 bonus points on the hiring test for either emt or paramedic certification. We are also required to maintain at least a basic emt certification for employment. An additional 5 bonus points come being in the military. And a lot of guys have a second job, having to only work 10 days a month gives you a lot of free time to pursue other interests. Two years ago I built a house on my days off, great way to get a lot of sweat equity in a hurry.
