I need a 4 day per week career

Don't we all........I need a lot more than just a 4 day work week, but the last I checked life isn't easy or fair.:(

naw, all I need is a cold beer and a good looking naked chick to look at. The rest is just luxeries that I can do with out

The shift has started already to a better schedule/less comuter costs. 4/10 are good but mo betta is a 3/12-4/12 schedule. The best available right now is the medical field but in the next year or so I expect lots more jobs to convert to fewer days/longer days.
Unless it's someplace really great, I don't do 5/8s, and then, not for long.

I work at a hospital and we are stuck on 8s. I would love 4/10 but even better is 3 12s. It's 4 hours less, but we get shift differental for anything past a "day" shift to make up for it. Also as one nurse told me, he spends 2/5s of the week working and I'm at 5/7s

Ive done 4 day work weeks for the last 12 years. I could never go back. The trick is to find a small office. They will be more flexible than if you are part of a large department in a huge company. If you do find a place that will let you do the 4 days, dont ever go in on a friday saying "just this once". It will never be just this once. Be available by cell phone on friday. Its important that they are not annoyed by your absence. Ensure all your business is handled thursday when you leave. Do a better job than everyone else. The harder you are to replace, the more leverage you have. Good luck!

worked 4/10's tuesday through Friday for three years now. Love it!! at 75K its a hell of a job. Even get a company vehicle free of charge. Cost of living here is so high though that 75K does not mean much.

I have a 4 day work week, I'd rather work 5-11s instead of the 4-11s that I work now. But I need the cash to pay for a new sled motor and a trip to Revy next year.

you need my hours.

most days open around 9 or 10
occasionally as early as 5, but somedays as 12 or 1.
i close about 5 or 6, occasionally about 3 or 4, sometimes as late as 11 or 12.

some days or afternoons, i'm not here at all. lately i've been here just about all the time except when i'm some where else.:):beer;

i worked 3 9-12's a week, with one 4 day a month...made 200k-300k per year...had an office with many windows, flight attendants to bring me food and beverage and entertain me at night....life is good

wow! you are still alive....

where ya been all winter? switch trucks and and disappear...

Looking for suggestions/ideas on a career where i can work 4 days per week. I'm 33 and have been in sales/ business development pretty much all my life. From 97-2004 I worked on Wallstreet in NYC. Since then I've been in the start-up world. For the past year I've been a sales consultant. Love what I do but the pace never slows down and there is NO stability. I've had income levels all over the board (0k - 200+k) and just need something stable and somewhat healthy (60k-100k). Sledding is by far my biggest expense and i like to renovate houses. Would like to stay in Colorado also.

Suggestions?

Well ... might not be what you would consider, but most of the local trucking companies around Western Colorado, Eastern Utah, etc .... the guys who aren't OTR truckers, but work day shifts hauling water and sand ... those guys make 60-80k DOE and work 4 days on and 2 off with 2 weeks vacation every year.

Far cry from sales but that's the only thing I know of thats a 4-2 schedule.

your dreaming. 99 % of people on snowest would also like to make 60 - 100 K

I don't see how most of us aren't in that range ... how could we afford the sleds let alone the gas and equipment to ride them if we weren't?

hehe..

Paramedic or nurse. Stable, in demand, multiple days off in a row, but you got at a least a year of school ahead of ya... Oh yea and that whole bodily fluids thing...

I'm just trying to get it down to less than 7 days a week.....except for when there is snow on the ground of course ;)

I really just need a flexible schedule in the winter. I'm comfortable working a 9 to 5 and a few additional hours from home a day. This year i made the jump and started hiring sales people to work for me. Now i have to baby sit all day.
