I nearly lost my buddy today.

Trivial? If anyone finds this trivial they haven't owned a dog (or shouldn't have.) Hope she has a speedy recovery! Great looking pooch :beer;
I think that's the first time I've ever said that to a guy :o

Dude! That sucks. I have 5 dogs and that would kill me. I have made that never ending drive to the vet with a badly injured buddy. It's agonizing at best. Hang in there. I wish you both the best!

Better days.....

Sorry to hear about the accident. I wish her a speedy recovery and you lots of nice thoughts.

Honestly, I know what it is like to have your heart broken when your "kid" is sick (just like other peeps on this site). My dog is only nine years old and a has a brain tumor. Although she is still with us, I have already shed an ocean of tears. Man talk about waterworks. The meds will work for awhile longer, but we are going to have to say goodbye way too soon.

I love the rhino pic. Our dog will not stoping barking when the snowmobile(s) starts up. She just loves them for some reason. Such amazing creatures.

Give your little bud a nice big pet from Idaho.

glad all is well. my big ox jumped out of the back of the pickup after a rooster at 5 mph and landed wrong. he's held together with 20lb test fishing line, but hunts all day, just likes his advil afterwards.

I was out pushing snow with the Rhino when I heard her start yelping just
after the neighbor went by.

My heart just sank as I knew what must have happened.:face-icon-small-sad
I just didn't know how bad she was injured.

I picked her up & held her as I drove to the vet. ( a cold ride at 10 below!)

She has a broken pelvis & some road rash, but the doc says she should get
through it. He doesn't think any internals were ruptured.

She will have a rough week or two.

BTW It really wasn't the neighbor's fault, he wasn't going fast, in fact he has no idea it even happened.

It is extremely hard to see her in such pain.:face-icon-small-sad

I know many of you will think this is trivial, but she really is a child to us.

Thanks again everyone.
It does help to know there are others out there who consider these companions their "children".

This morning she is showing some interest in food & drinking, that's a huge improvement.:)

I am glad things turned out better than expected and your dog is still with you. There is nothing trivial about losing your dog. I like dogs more than people. My little dog died on Christmas morning in my arms. I had her for 13 years and she was everything to me. I was crying so much I couldn't even talk to the vet on the phone. Her ashes now sit on my dresser in the bedroom and I still put her urn in bed with me at times as she used to sleep by my head at night. I sure miss her more than ever.................
