I don't want to pick a fight but I have to know.

All the manufacturers have sacrificed durability and reliablity for light weight and high performance, and who demanded it, the buyers, and then we complain when a sled that weighs 75 lbs less than a comparable sled 10 years ago will not take the same punishment. A friend of mine who rents out Yamaha Phazers said that their front A-arms fold up like tin foil if you take them off the trail so all the factories are guilty. I just wish they would make models for the average guy who does not want to climb Mt. Everest, jump the Grand Canyon or go 120 mph but just wants something that will get him and his family back to the trailer every time he goes out. Last year for the first time in 30 years of sledding I had to tow a sled back to the trailer, the MPEM (computer) shut down on my wifes sled, there should be a "failsafe" mode on these things that will allow it to run even if all the other functions are disabled---MY RANT!!!!!!!

it seems almost every manufacture has problems with the first year of a new sled, or at least complaints. the second or third and years after a new sled is introduced it only gets better and better. take the 03 and a half rev for example. perfected in 06, and then ruined again with the introduction of the "R" motor. My guess is that the 09 xp will shine, and the 2010 will shine like a set of big fat juicey greased up giant sweater puppets!

Grip warmers. That's all I replaced. Traded 08 for 09 this year. Did 1300 miles on my 08, rode it like a rental that is was.

That orange chopper photo made me think of Zed. But Zed's Dead.

if you keep track of most of those threads, you will find that a good number of them are started by a friend of a friend whos brother in laws cousin owns a ski-doo, and they rode it for 2 minutes and now can form an opinion.

Not discounting that there are and were some legit problems, but I think the numbers are a bit skewed..... you don't see many threads started by the people who have no problems....

Drive shafts.... I will have to admit, there is no excuse for that, but they are taking care of the problem... a little slow, but it is being taken care of...

Clutching issues also need to be dealt with, but what brand doesn't need the clutching dialed in for your type of riding and conditions.

You can buy any brand you listed, but I think you'll find, they all have there issues.

i know everyone says that the yamahas are a little fat, but i have put countless miles on them and had no belt issues, no motor issues, no drive shaft issues, ect.. i can deal with fat but can you deal with broke down!!!

A little fat!?!?! They are the heaviest tanks on snow. The only way to make one go is to spend another ten grand on a turbo. The fact that they are so "reliable" has nothing to do with Yamaha, but rather the four stroke engine. You can keep the 600lb whale, I'll stick to floating on top.
