I changed my mind. MY XP RIPS!!!

You should bring the RPM down a bit, you will tend to hit the rev limiter. I have mine on #2 and it pulls 8100rpm's at 7000ft. :D
Its better to be a little under the max than over or right at it.

If the XP is like the 07, the tack reads about 200 rpm high. We run the XRS's at about 8300-8400.

Well I just got back from Xtreme(Dropped off my daughters POO-not the diaper kind!;)) and Charlie said they have had 4 or 5 XP's come in that were tweaked too. He said the upper bulkhead was tweaked on those sleds. Crap:eek:! Sounds just like the REV and that nun b.s. Charlie said that BRP still made the A-arms too strong. My uncle walloped a rock yesterday with his M7, breaking the rear of the A-arm completely off. Guess what? The sled is not "tweaked". I'm kinda bummed that BRP still didn't get this right. My uncle(different than the other one! They both like rocks;)) was doing about 20 mph when he smacked that rock with my XP. The M7 uncle was doing about twenty as well. His sled looks a lot worse, but obviously, it isn't. The Arctic Cat boys got it right. They're bolt sheared, broke the A-arm and saved the bulkhead. Maybe BRP needs to "steal" a couple of Kitty cat engineers!:face-icon-small-con

Hey Jimbo, don't go spend 5 or 6 g's in order to compete with the rest of the stock two-strokers. It just isn't worth it! I'll call ya when the front of my XP is put back on:eek:

Almost forgot this part..............My sled is bent:eek:. My uncle decided to finally ride my XP after 4 hours of drooling at it. He made it about 200 feet before cracking:eek: a "microwave oven" sized rock with the left ski. Over the bars he goes:D. I looked at the sled and didn't notice anything wrong. However;), after further examination(When putting it on the trailer and tying the skis down) I noticed the left ski is about 1" further to the back than the right one is. The A-arms on the right side don't line up, but the A-arms on the left DOO. I can't tell what's normal? It looks like the left side is pushed back quite a bit. Any ideas?? Can somebody go take a quick peek at the A-arms for me?:) Sorry, it's a 154X

I did the same thing on my xp pushed back about 3 inches....nothing seemed to be bent at all except where the lower a arms bolt to the back of the nun...i just hooked the upper a arm to the truck and pulled the ski with the quad and got it close to normal rides like brand new

HOLD THE PHONE! I just started digging in to 'er and it might just be the lower A-arm:face-icon-small-hap. Might be a little premature(that's normal for me-ask my wife:eek:) but it looks a little tweaked from the sway bar mount point to the bulkhead. It's not passing the "straight edge" test. It has a slight curve midway through the back of the bottom A-arm. Make sense???

new style frame machine,,i like it:D

i thought the digital tachs were suppose to be spot on..

I have an Avenger on my '07 and the old style analog tach reads identical. I know the Doo tach's back in the late 90's and early 00's were all about 100-200 low, but I think the majority since then have been quite accurate. I guess the only way to tell for sure is to have a second gauge or have it calibrated.

Don't be hate'n now Ike or i'll tell all your ski-doo pals your REAL background.
Remember ol "Pete"? ;)

Don't be throwing out that stock stuff coming from a manufacturer that
has reliablility issues that rival that of a Ford Pinto. lol ;)

When I was riding CATS in the mid 90's I bent alot of bulkheads and A arm mounts---hooked her up to the hitch and used a come along with with a big lever attached to a second truck to straighten all the parts---sometimes we applied a little heat, black paint and good to go.

I tried aftermarket chromoly A arms but they were too rigid and broke more stuff. Maybe it's time to revisit the REV solution--drilling break-away holes and sacrifice the A arm?

Once I went to Simmons flex skis, my A arm problems went away--except for this one day at the Snowies:rolleyes:

That a-arm is going to be weak due to metal fatigue...now you won't bend a nun

Them there's fighting words Jim! How come you are over "here" in the DOO section:confused:? If my new XP is the equivalent of a Ford Pinto, I'm gonna start driving one. I had no idea the Pinto was the performance car leader of it's era:face-icon-small-con. If the XP is the Pinto, than the Nytro has to be The Judge GTO right:). If you keep picking on me I'm sending KODPKD your way:eek: I almost forgot to mention this Jim. I used to ride a Mountain Max 700 141. Great sled. I loved it until...................I rode a REV!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only bash on the brands that are different then mine:). I still have that brand new Peak head Jim. 2 o-ring kits but the domes are 17's:cool:. You interested?

Dang, i been to busy fixin my POS cat that I about missed this...opportunity. Thanks for the heads up Jim :)

Guess I'll never get to ride her now huh Ike? So, a bent a-arm and a nun! Or, my m7 mod would pull 55 in those exact conditions. Or, doos are the best set up motor out of the factory and that's why so many blow up! lol

Glad your likin her and too bad about the UNCLE! Guess we'll never see how the old 7 would have fared, but I'm confident she woulda took ya and we'll leave it at that. Hope I can get the new 800 dialed in as well as the lil 7. Should know this weekend :D You riding next week?

Cod piece kid who?

The nun, if it's called that on the XP, is ok. Tweaked the bottom a-arm and the spindle. I put the new a-arm on tonight(gotta ride tomorrow:)) and got it almost perfect. I started measuring everything again and noticed the spindle looked a little out of whack(Kinda like Hillary when someone asks her about Bill;)) So I removed the belly stand and set her on the concrete minus the skis. Guess what? The left spindle(only the very bottom of the spindle) is "pushed" back 12 degrees. From the "ski mount bolt" up to the bottom ball joint, it's at 90 degrees. The right side is at 78 degrees. Hummmm:confused:. Gonna ride tomorrow and order a new spindle from the top of the Widow Maker:). How's the BMP kit Paul? By the way, my other uncle tore the left a-arm off of his M7 that same day! I'm glad Jim got a hold of ya; he was getting kinda boring:eek:

Is there a back way up widow maker? My hats off to you, I don't think my track will ever take me over the top of that. Them Doos doo climb well! Just ride it, all that geometry crap don't mean squat if 2 feet of pow. You'll likely tear it off the rest of the way before long anyway. Ridin now is crazy! M's are handy when bashin stuff. Your uncle must have tagged something solid to bust the welds.

The Blow My Pocketbook kit is getting spendy. Probably not as bad as being prison raped, but the seller included a few surprises with the "New BMP 800 Kit". It's a little story you can read here http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=285465&st=15&start=15 I'll give him a couple days to pay up the 250, then I'll dog every sale he posts, and he sells alot, and MAKE him change his name, then i'll figure out that name and dog him there and on and on. Aw fuggit, I'm already worn out:D
