I caughtmy very first Muskie last night

Yummmm. Carp smoke up real good. They have a pretty neutral flavor and take smoking perfectly. Gotta go home to the prairies and get me some pike n' carp.

we shoot hundreds of them damn things with our bows.. just leave the damn things lay.. I ain't eating those garbage fish.. If you want you can come down here for a pick load of them.. ;)

Haven't even caught a snake yet this season.... course i've only been out twice.. :(... but the eye fishing has been great all summer..

Nice Muskies! What lake is it Jeff? is it located in the north metro by chance?

I can 100 percent tell ya what lake it wasn't. In fact if any of you ever pull a Muskie out of Minnewawa I'll but a case of Kokanee....hell that lake doesn't have anything but little perch and bullhead.

Nice looking fish Jeff....Props for you, I haven't yet gotten the musky bug.

20" is big, 5lb bass is good for MN

biggest I've seen in north central probably went 5-6 in the spring, 4-5 in when caught in fall. Brother landed a 6lb on a small private, secret lake....F'ing bastage has yet to take me to the damn lake even though he's taken his F'ing worthless brother-in-law....

dumb ?, is using a bow legal in MN for carp? I just use the pitch fork....shhh...

To answer yes. Bow is legal check your regs for the exacts. And there is nothing in the regs that says a pitchfork isn't a legal spear. Been out with a few guys using them.

Man I sure wish they'd let you use a spear gun on more then just rough fish...be a blast going after sunny and crappies during the spawn with one of those.

Tonka has big everything bass, skis, even carp if your into bow fishin:beer;

Watching the carp spawn in the spring is something else!! Quite the site to see!

Big Island also has a ton of good fish hanging out on hot summer days also..:D

Hope to get into some this weekend

Boondock, that is a ****in nice fish!! Where are you going this w/e? Emma wants to go down to pueblo for some wakeboarding.

Definetely some very nice muskies. I haven't spent too much time with the muskies (hate casting with everyboy and their brother on Minnetonka). So when I have time been killing the bass. We've put quite a few nice ones in the boat. Gotta get back up to the cabin on LOTW's for some fall muskie fishing (maybe a little bear hunting in the afternoon too).

Coolest looking fish I have ever caught! Not a 100+lb halibut but not bad for Colorado lol

We fish tigers close to our house by far some of the best looking fish out there.

Thats a nice tiger and fat

Actually caught my first and second muskie. First one was a 30" little guy, but only 45 minutes later, I caught this (Attached photo) 43" beauty.

In my excitement, I grabbed the wrong side of the gills to hold it, and the gill plate carved up my fingers pretty good. It didn't even notice I was bleeding until after I let the fish go......

My buddies all told me that I would be really excited when I caught my first big one. They were right, that was totally awesome!!

I can't wait to go back to our "secret lake"

Spent most of the spring casting with nothing, then BOOM! two fish in 45 minutes on a topwater, "Pacemaker" of all lures.......

Looks like around Cass Lake....close?
