I cant beleive this is happening

I too watched in sadness as Obama won the other night. I don't care what anyone thinks, here in Canada we ARE affected by what happens in the US....just look at my retirement savings account. :(

As I was watching all those people around your country yelling and jumping and crying the other night, I was thinking to myself....I sure hope they still love him that much by the end of the next 4 years.....

Of the last two weeks of me poking and prodding on here, that is probably the most articulate writing I have seen from your side. (Though I am a lil drunk from the Buckcherry/Avenged Sevenfold concert).

I do not agree with you, but hey, that is what is great about America. That is the thing, I think Obama is a better person to bring us out of this mess than McCain. We need an inspiring leader and he has inspired millions of people (both positively and negatively). McCain, 8 years ago, probably would have been a good president, he is just so dull at a time when we need something more. Bush has been non-existent the last year or so, and I think that has helped the recession progress.

I don't know, just my thoughts, though it is a little hazy right now.

My ears are starting to ring just reading that. No puking in the flower pot. Thanks for the props, and I'm not admonishing you, but you failed to answer my question. Although I guess I could give a pass because of the concert. Your response is the same, more or less, as I have got from most everyone. A message of change, hope and inspiration. So when I sit down with my accountant I "hope" that I have a little "change" left over so that I'll have some "inspiration" to do it another year.

I guess its time to stop

This is from Ann Coulter. Now no matter what any of you think of Ann, this is the real truth.
In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president. How does that grab you?

From Wednesday's Patriot Post:

Dear Fellow Patriots,

Tuesday, 4 November 2008, is a date which will live in infamy. While most presidential elections are followed with calls for unity by both candidates, Barack Obama issued no such call in his speech last night, with the possible exception of his observation, "I may not have won your vote tonight, but ... I will be your president, too."

Of course, none was expected -- liberals have elected a Socialist with deep ties to cultural and ethnocentric radicalism, and his executive and legislative agenda poses a greater threat to American liberty than that of any president in the history of our great republic.

Obama has twice taken an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic" and to "bear true faith and allegiance to the same." He has never honored that oath, and, based on his policy proposals and objectives, he has no intention to honor it after again reciting that oath on 20 January 2009. Obama seeks to, in his own words, "break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution."

For that reason, this morning, the symbol of our national heritage of liberty, the American flag atop the 35-foot mast at our editorial offices, was respectfully lowered, inverted, and raised to full mast as a sign of national distress. It will remain inverted until next Tuesday, when we right it in honor of Veterans Day.

Today, at least 55,805,197 Americans are concerned for the future of our nation's great tradition of liberty. Some 63,007,791 Americans have been lulled, under the aegis of "hope and change," into a state of what is best described as "cult worship" and all its attendant deception.

One of our editors, a Marine now working in the private sector, summed up our circumstances with this situation report. It aptly captured the sentiments around our office: "It's been tough, fellow Patriots; tough to stomach the idea that more than half of my fellow citizens who vote, have booted a genuine American hero to the curb for a rudderless charlatan. What a sad indictment on our citizenry that some are so eager to overlook his myriad flaws -- his radical roots, his extreme liberalism, his utter lack of experience or achievement. Barack Obama is the antithesis of King's dream: He's a man judged by the color of his skin rather than the content of his character. If it's God's will that Barack Obama is our next president, then so be it. We Patriots will pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and wade back to the war front, intent on liberty or death."

This battle is lost, but the war is not. Let's roll.

show me a dem whos showed respect or loyalty to bush. i dare you to...

Show me where a Democrat has said to kill Bush or Bush will be killed like you fools have on here. Point is, you all were crying when talking about respect for Bush because some people made fun of him. Now that it is a Democrat, you are saying 10 times worse stuff than any Dem I have heard. That is called hypocricy.

And Moose, I did not understand your question there with the medical being an investment. I don't know how health care is a deduction for business and you get a 50% tax credit. I did not see that anywhere. And for the tax rates, I do not get your point. Obama is restoring the top tax bracket to Clinton levels, so for those making over $349,700, they will pay a marginal rate of 39.6% rather than 35% under Bush. Which is far better than the 90% over $100,000 poeople paid in the 40s and 50s coming off World War II. See that is what countries do when coming off wars, it has to be paid for somehow.

Keep in mind, those charts are for taxable income, not income. I know my taxable is $50,000 lower than my actual earnings because of health care, mortgage interest, personal exemptions, 401(k), etc. Then I get $1,000 off my tax bill because of the child tax credit. So, you have to take into account credits, which those tables do not reflect. Obama is talking about a $500 additional credit.

And for those of you saying he is going to give taxes back to those who don't work, that is not true. And if you have done some research rather than listening to Hannity, O'Reilly, and Rush, you would know you have to work to get the credits. Just like the tax check in the sping, the Democrats made sure you had at least $3,000 in income. And they allowed retirees to be exempt from the $3,000, which the Republicans did not want.

And yes, my ears are still ringing.

Dude, the election is over, you can stop the fear mongering. And you Republicans think your way is the ONLY way and the sky is falling if you don't get your way.

Grow up and support your new leader. (I think I have heard that a time or two).

Everyone is so worried about getting their money taken away...well it would happen with McCain as well...someone has to pay for this war and it ain't gonna be Iraq.
Plus I'd rather have my money taken away and go to less unfortunate then to big business who would just go out and spend it on a spa treatment.
This is exactly why america voted Democrate this time, they got sick of all the republicans giving their money to millioniars and constantly turning their backs on the little guy.....and if you make under 100K your a little guy no matter how blind you are.

You know, Pelosi stopped any possiblity of impeaching Bush. Go back in time to 2006 when a lot of people were calling for Bush's consitutional violations to be brought up and investigated when the Democrats took over. Pelosi's first action as majority leader was to say we are not going to look back at the past, we are going to move forward.

So as much as you say Pelosi did not support Bush, she did not fight him. Pelosi and Bush do not agree, so of course they are going to butt heads, that is called leaders hammering things out.

Like I said, ya'll called for respect of Bush, but now you will not respect Obama.
