Yep, I sent BJ my motor at the very end of May and he sent it back late August.....He even took his time as I was in no hurry what so ever, I even added a couple special requests. Excellent service in my book!!!

1) 2007 mid elevation program
2) HPS can
3) verify ex valve cables/TPS
4) run 87/88 octane in summits
5) summits use the 60 gram brute arms, 413 ramp, stock spring..adj pin weight as needed...roughly 14-18 grams...stock 44/36 secondary..
6) drop weight....LOL

I meant internals, I plan a tear down after the season and planned to look into some mods to the motor while it's tore down.

I was thinking BB but maybe just some porting??? Who knows.

trail port/RKT head for engine mods...drop weight...put 2.5" track on...BJ
 
I blew up my primary last weekend and I was wondering if this is common with the TRA 3 clutch? What should I replace it with? Its an 04 summit. Thanks
 
Hey BJ. I am having some electrical issues. I ride a '03.5 Summit. My tach, stopped working, I have three lights on on my dash, the headlights are dim, and I am very low on power. There is only about 6V running out of the regulator. I have replaced the regulator, and still no luck.

1) Where is the ground strap on these motors
2) Would these symptoms happen if the stator was having issues (resistance tests all passed)
3) Other than a shorted wire (which I haven't been able to find yet) or a dirty/loose ground (which I can't find either) do you have any idea what would cause this?

That's common for any clutch that you don't keep clean and check for seized rollers and worn bushings on a regular basis! Replace with another TRA-III, they are good primaries for those motors.

PS - Ask BJ about a clutch kit if you want to go faster AND prolong the life of your next one!

rare...just get another TRA 3...make sure its in good shape and has the correct calibration-BJ

I know this post is pretty old but hope you can help me pinpoint my problem. My sled is a 2003.5 summit x 800 and I am having issue with idel. It wont idel and is sometimes hard to start. I have full power at higher RPM and it idels when first started with the choke on. Tries to die if it doesn't get throttle after only a couple seconds. I cleaned the carbs and the reeds looked okay (I will check them again) and the problem remains. I had a crack in the intake boot and fixed that and problem remains.

My buddy just lost compression in 1 cylinder on his 03.5 rev HO. If the cranks good whats your recommendation for him to do as far as a big bore kit?
