I could have sworn there was a thread on this already, but I cannot seem to find it.. Maybe I dont know how to use the search feature well, but I just cant find it if there is one.. Anyway, looking to remove the paint or PC (whatever it is) from a stock Polaris tunnel.. its on a 97 RMK.. Tried the aircraft paint stripper, but its doesnt really work well.. Trying to strip the entire tunnel to bare aluminum.. Anyone have a solution of something that will take this stuff off? Thanks

Good luck with that, I don't know of a method that isn't ALOT of work.
Besides a good stripper (the paint kind, not the naked kind) might try blistering the paint with a propane torch and scraping with a sharp PLASTIC scraper. Then there are various blasting media that MAY work, like walnut shells etc.....but I think would leave a rough surface. Good luck, doesn't sound like fun. :beer;:)

I used a high quality aircraft stripper followed with a good hot powerwashing. I had to repeat that about three times. Then used a good cutting compound on a high speed buffer to get the last remaning paint off. Finish with some polish and your done. Plan to spend a solid day with lots of :beer;:)

Ive done two of them on drag sleds. You have to use a fresh can of unopened aircraft stripper. It needs to be above 70* outside and brush it on thick. It will melt/bubble the paint loose in 15-30 seconds. Then use a plastic puddy knife to scrape off the goo.

Pressure wash it clean when your done. Eric

The Aircraft stripper for sure,do it while its warm out. Also Permatex gasket remover works good as well.Let it bubble the coating, blast it with a pressure washer. It takes a while but it will come off.I've used the aircraft stripper,Roloc discs and Da sanders with 80grit to remove coatings in the past.

Aircraft stripper. But make sure it is warm enough outside, if it is to cold it doesnt work very good.

Zip-Strip...not sure how it would work on a tunnel but when i pour it out for stripping furniture, if I spill some on the can it peels the paint right off.
