how to help with fuel consumption? on 08 fire 800 snopro

have any of you guys put a boondocker on the 08 800's and get any good results as far as better on the fuel? mine right now is supper bad on gas im sure that they all are but if the boondocker or another brands controller helps i would like to know what you guys got? also how have you helped the oil consumption? how far can you turn it down and still be safe?
