How to get to bountiful

the two that got stranded... no beacons, no shovels, not prepared at all.

Some reports from different news areas say they set one of their sleds on fire? WTF?

B town is steep and unforgiving terrain. Hope these peeps learned their lesson to be prepared next time.

Search and rescue can search and search you have to know the area and know what to look for and where people ride. I hope that all of us are willing to jump in and go look. I know last year we all where ready to look for those two guys up in heber area. SNOWMOBILERS are like a giant family in my book. Kevin YOU rock man!

If you aren't prepared, I'm not as willing to search for those who are lost....

Thinning of the gene pool I guess. Call me ruthless, but I don't have sympathy for people who make us sledders look stupid and un-prepared as a whole.

Cheers to the fella they interviewed that went up with his son on his own to find them. Tracked them down in about 30 min. Just said that if it were he and his son he would hope someone would come look for them.

Bravo dude!! This is why I love the sledding community!

I would use that excuse to get out and ride, he was probably telling the news that for his wife and boss to hear but really just wanted a reason to get out midweek....lol Good peeps for sure.

Allot of the News reports didn't have all the info. They were pretty well prepared other than not having beacons. He even had a small folding chair strapped to his backpack. Same old thing we have all dealt with riding Bountiful. They were crossing the ridge to come off the Tuttle loop ridge and couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of them and dropped the wrong canyon on older machines and became stuck about halfway down one of those steep canyons. They were along way from fire wood and his son was freezing. SAR were riding up the road and coming in from the backside and the North side. No way they could have seen them. My son and I dropped down in Tuttle loop and climbed up the ridge. (They said they had phone reception so I knew they had to be on that side of the mountain). We saw there tracks and looked back down the other ridge and could see them waving there arms. Was quite the day to say the least!
