how to get more hp for an efi 600

I got a 2009 switchback 600 136" and I am wondering how I could get those few extra horses fairly cheap. I have looked into turbos before but they are kinda spendy and since I know absolutely nothing about turbos I would have to hire someone to install. I want it to be able to do a wheelie (If that is possible) like my friends stock switchback pro r 600 (yes I said 600) with the same length track. Thanks in advance.

Best bang for the buck here is clutching, gearing. Next step is an SLP pipe option.

Full SLP exhaust. Clutching. 22-40 gearing. Why worry about top speed? Better clutching makes you quicker off the line.
Rear torsion springs on soft, rear-rear stops to softest setting. Increase front shock preload.

Would you happen to know what my stock gearing is?? And does changing the gearing put any more stress on the engine.

Stock gearing is 22/39. You won't be putting any more stress on the engine with lower gears. You may have to change flyweights and spring in primary clutch to achieve proper rpm for your engine.

You need to find out what your stock gears are and your chain pitch. You can change gears but you also need to pay attention to how they will or will not work with your stock chain. The chain may need to be changed also. Here is an example of the gears and chain pitch for my 2007 700 (stock had 20 & 41 gears with a 74 pitch chain). I now run Team 19/42 gears with the stock chain. You can buy these at any Polaris dealer, Western Power Sports dealer, on-line, etc.

20/39 74 pitch
20/40 74
20/41 74 Stock
20/42 74
19/40 74
19/41 74
19/42 74
19/43 74
18/40 72 pitch

Pitch refers to the number of links in the chain.
Your stock specs are as follows:
Top gear is 22T 3/4" wide
Bottom gear is 39T 3/4" wide
Chain is 76P 3/4" wide.
Primary clutch weights are 10-64

Gear ratio is usually expressed as the bottom gear divided by the top gear so your stock setup has a ratio of 1.77. That is pretty tall gearing in my opinion. I would try for something around 2.05 which the 600 RMK has with 20T and 41T gears and uses the same 76P chain. Or you could go to 19T and 41T gears for a ratio of 2.15 and still use the 76P chain.

Depending on your elevation you would most likely have to change to heavier weights to keep the rpm down to 8250 which I believe is the operating rpm. 10-68 might be close to what you need but that is just a guess at this point.

The gears cost about $35 each and the weights cost $77 at Ronnies Mail Order so a total of about $150. You could order from your Polaris dealer or any other parts suppliers like GearHead

The center to center distance from the jackshaft to the drive axle is 8.373" on your sled. You can use the formula on this website to determine your chain pitch. http://www.wahlracing.com/Gear-Ratio-Charts.html

It sounds like you need to go on the forums over at hardcoresledder.com. They will be running lower elevation setups on your sled type. Check the swapmeet area for someone selling a clutch kit or a complete set if gears and a chain. You want to run the shortest pitch chain possible for the gears you use choose. For example, I'm running an edge chain case in an old wedge chassis polaris. I run 19/43 gears in it and keep up with my friends twin piped 800 in short runs. This is with a stock single pipe triple 680 in the wedge.
