Helping a friend who is new to snowmobiling. He just bought his first sled a 04 skidoo summit 800 151. Want to know how tall of a riser you can put on without changing cables. Thanks....

It's all about preference...I run a 10" on my xrs, I'm 5'11"......I like to stand, alot...lol. As wildcard said 10" will fit.

Ya preference it the decision to make.

I`m 5`10" and I am around 170-175lbs with all my gear, and backpack on and run 10inch riser, if you search here or other sites you will find like I have that 8-10 is about the most popular no matter how tall or big you are.

Thanks for all the replies. I think he is about 6'3''. sled has stock bars on it . Local dealer told him that all he could do is a 2'' riser. Thought that that was bull.

Is his sled and X model or non X ?, one easy way to tell unless its been converted is the top of the steering post is flat with 4 bolt holes and the handlebars will be loop style or the x style post had a T Top and has flat bars, and thats the cool one to have, cause you can purchase tons of brands of riser in about any length you want, usually a stock X model riser is 7inch riser, so an extra 3inchs to 10 total really isnt that much especially if he is 6`3" nice to stand with out bending down to the bars.

I had 10inch RSI risers with my flat bars and changed to raised 3inch raised bars with a good deal on a Fly 7inch riser, back to 10inch tall again. more adjustabilility now.

I have a 7" + 3" and rerouting my flex steel brake line was too tight for my liking so I had a dirt track speed shop make up a 42" line to replace the OEM 36" line for $51.00.

I pulled up to his shop with my sled on the trailer, he came out to check out the application, let me pull the old line in his parking lot and made up the new line on the spot--then he came out to check out my handy work. Great service, thank you Don at AAI in Arvada, Co.:yo::yo:
