how much is to much???

Honestly, how many people are willing to spend 14K on a new STOCK sled I see the new Yamaha Apex is over 14K along with a few cats!!! Is a bone stock sled really worth $14,000... And even so what about us guys that like to trade up every year or so, I know I cant afford to ride a sled for one-two years and sell it for close to half of what it cost new!!!

14K

Only reason they cost 14K is because people are willing to pay that much for a new sled. If people stopped buying the 14K sleds and the sales dropped out then they wouldn't have that big of a price tag. I won't buy a 14k sled. I have an 07' xrs that I have way to much money into just to make it run stock (new motor, clutch ect...). I love the rev chassis and I can't sell it and take a hit of 5-6 thousand dollars to buy a new sled, besides you could take the 5-6 thousand dollars that you would spend on a new sled and make your slightly older sled awesome and kick the crap out of the new 14k sleds.(potentially). Just a thought.

Too much

By the time Feb rolls around these $15,000 sleds become $13,000 sleds so they obviously don't have to be $15,000 unless your willing to pay that much. e.g. 2010 NytroMTX SE

No different than $40k 1/2 ton trucks, ski boats or a house full of replacement windows for that matter. Everything costs too much, get used to it.

Nope. 14k for a bone stock sled is too much. Plain and simple. There are only a few who can afford to go out and rip out that much every year for a new sled and they certainly aren't big enough to carry 4 big sled makers.

See, the housing market was inflated for years and peeps bought and sold that way riding the tide for a long time, look where that is now. These manufacturers keeps charging that much for stock sleds it will get them nowhere.

Example, General Motors

Ya, it's crazy... for that reason alone, I will never buy a "brand new" sled the year that it is first being offered... Now hold-overs might be a different story, but I have no plans to update any time soon.

Yeah they cost to much. I snow checked my 08 in the spring of 07. 12k after taxes that year. Then in the spring of 2008 I could have bought the same sled brand new as a hold over for like 8-9k. Now I could by the same one new for like 7k. I will Never snow check as sled again. I have no problem riding a year old sled that is brand new for a savings of like 2-3k. Added benefit to that is you can read the forum and find out what works and what doesn't on them.:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap
