How much extra gas do you ride with? I feel like a traveling gas station.

I don't carry any.

My sleds gets 5mpg so a gallon won't make much diference. So I just stop and fill up at a stattion if I am below 1/4 tank.

Too bad we don't have that option in the backcountry.....then again, I'd rather have to pack fuel and ride in the backcountry!!!:beer;

We usually carry 2.5 gall each, longer days 5 gallons.

i normally carry my 3 gal. ski-doo jerry can. i almost never use it but my buddies do. they are all to cheap or lazy to buy cans for their sleds and always become my best friend when they run out.

Hook up the tow rope and tow them out at 100k they'll start carrying there own fuel.

You guys are all hardcore. I packed a 2.5 every ride last season, but I only put it in 1 ride in 5 so now I don't pack anymore. My tank is enough for me.

Closer to 135 miles.

If I burn 12 gallons in a day, I'm so beat I wouldn't be able to move by the time I got to the truck.

should see what its like doing that kind of mileage 5 days in a row! Was hard on me, but I couldn't imagine what it was like for Mel and his wife, Mels got to be 65 or so! What a mountian goat!

I don't doubt it.... I bet 2 beer puts you out at night after that. :beer;

I remember having a few huge pow days back in Keystone at Revy where I burned a whole tank out of my 700 Yammy and another 5 gallon can after that and made it back to the truck on fumes. I was BEAT after those.

my uncle has a 97 Summit 670 with lotsa tweakin done..........he burns through his tank, the five gallons that he carries and sometimes he will mooch off of my rev jerrican. How the heck can a sled burn that much petrol!?

i used to carry 2.5 extra every ride for my 738 rev... used it about 5 times all season, onces i ran out at lunch cuz it was a foot of pow on the trail and DEEP everwhere else.

getting towed out sucks, carry gas, my new sled dont use much, but i carry anyways, easier then towing!!

Had to siphon out of the back tank a cpl weeks ago, worked great for many yrs like this - but it seems my hoses aint quite as supple as they once was and now I need to finally add some small hose clamps. Otherwise - plumbed ratt in! Draws up just like a Tour Buddy does. (But not under the hood!)

BTW - that's 10 gallons - and with the siphone effect - the idea is that it gits the weight off the back first! Not the same as dumping off your load before hitting a hill, but this way you don't hafta pick it back up near the trail later either...

5 on the back of the tunnel would feel heavier than 10 under the seat!

I find that with the 900 Polaris I ride I only need one 5 gallon and we just drop um at the half way point and on the way back just top um off....but man sometimes its a stretch and my poo is runnin' on fumes to get back to the reserve cans...I mean I weigh in at 285 and am 6'7'' so with my gear I am over 300 easy so I find that a lot of the places we want to get into takes a little bit more of me being on the gas all the time just to keep fatty movin :)......but I will tell you this much, one ride out of my 900 uses up all the liquids she has....I mean everything is running on empty both oils and the gas.....

You guys need to get off the trail! A normal 8 hour day of riding for us is 30-45 miles max. 10-12gal factory tanks are enough.

When the POW is really deep and its to the bar all day the fuel usage goes way up but the miles go way down too :)

Never carry fuel on my Apex and never ran out. Eric

Never really been an issue.

My chumms RMK is setup the same and I think he's hit it once werth mentioning.

If you have ahold of the bars - you can't quite reach the tank.

Besides - I usually go over the bars and off the front. ;)

I git off the trail thank you.
