How much do you drink while riding?

I know this isn't healthy, but I rarely drink more than 1/2 bottle of water during a days ride.
To drink more, I have to force it down, which I just don't do.
Only exception would be eating salty food. Then I can drink more.

Usually a bottle of Gatorade or Powerade and a bottle of water.

Sometimes I also drink a bottle of water during the drive out in the truck, and on the way home.

It depends on the ride, sometimes very little like you, other times i'll drain my camelback in my backpack and then some.

Maybe a bottle or two of tea, water, gatorade or vitamin water. On a rare occasion will go through three or four. And rarely eat while riding also.

It's really crucial you hydrate the night before, just keep a glass of water in front of you the whole day before and try to throw down 3 or so in the couple hours before bed. I ride with 70--100ml of water depending on how big I think the ride is gonna get, I usually come back empty. I ride with a camelback type job in my BC pack so I can suck on the tit while throwing down pow turns.

I'm the same way. I drink very little water and know I need to drink more but for some reason I can't.

I like to hydrate the night before.

Eat some oatmeal, craisins, and a couple of eggs for breakfast.
Drink a cup of coffee, followed by some more water.
Drink about a liter of water on the ride down.
Get out of the truck and pee for about 5 minutes.
Ride sled about 3 miles, stop to pee for 5 minutes.
Ride until I break a decent sweat.
Stop and eat a delicious hot meal (Hot turkey and gravy sandwich, elk steak fajitas) out of the best mod ever, the muff pot.
Drink another liter of water.
Ride hard and head back to truck.
Drink a nice cold Miller Lite and reflect upon the days events.

So to answer your question...about 2-3 liters, or 60-90 ounces.:face-icon-small-hap

The key to drinking more is gradually increasing the amount you intake in a day. When I ride my bicycle (hard riding, dirt jumps, trails, extreme downhill, etc.) I wear my camelback with 3 liters of water in it and it's usually empty by the time I get home.

Now I can drink 3 liters of water in a day easily, and then some. If I don't drink atleast like 1.5-2 in a day, I get a pounding headache from dehydration. And get this: LOTS OF WATER HELPS YOU LOSE WEIGHT.

When sledding I usually have atleast 4 bottles of water. I wish I had a backpack that could have a camelbak in it, but I couldn't convince my dad that it wouldn't freeze, so he never let me get another one for sledding.

I drink 2 sometimes 3 bottles water. If I drink one or even less I get a altitude head ache every time. But I also drink my share of beer the night before. I would bet if I didnt consume the alchol prior I wouldnt have to hydrate so much.

I typically drink about 3/4 a bottle of water throughout the day. BUT I drink a couple of glasses of water at every meal breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And tbh there is nothing wrong with a beer at lunch and a beer at dinner too.

I have 2 bottles in a container next to my can and try to finish them off. Not easy to do as some guys will never stop to take a break:face-icon-small-sad
To keep a camelback from freezing, dump a table spoon of sugar into the water.
Experiment as to how much.

I usually drink an energy drink in the morning then a small bottle of gatorade before I ride .... I carry two bottles of water in my seat and unless we're reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaally riding hard I almost never break into the 2nd one.

Sometimes I have to force myself to drink a little extra water, but if I make sure to drink a small bottle of gatorade before leaving the parking lot it seems to really help out .... don't seem to get quite as fatigued as quickly as if I don't do that.

a lot depends on the day if its hard riding or really warm out I will drink more water. We always throw in 2 or 3 bottles of water in everyones pack so to make sure we have enough.

The day before is key. I drink 2 bottles of water while out riding. 3 if I stop enough and force it down. Hydrating the day before a ride seems to make life easier for sure!

I drink 3-4 500 ml bottles of water and a bottle of pedialyte (electrolite solution for kids) during a day's ride. I used to get leg cramps after riding but the pedialyte cured that.
