How much Boost is SAFE !!

At Powder Lites we get calls all the time on how much boost is safe for the last few years. Make sure you guys know how thick of head spacer and what altitude you are riidng at with how much boost.
12 psi in the mountains with stage 2 Powder Lites and it comes with .080 spacer.
We haven't had any trouble but other manufacture's say you can run more boost but we are hearing about high numbers of engine failures on pump gas.
Be safe and enjoy your ride.
The last few weeks we have had calls for about 4 engines all running higher boost numbers and I always ask how much boost and what kit they are running.
The very best snow is now so crank it down and enjoy the last 2 months.

i have a stage 3 Powderlites and 12 lbs is nothing to write home about.
Why can the MCX run more boost on pump ?
16 lbs is where the fun factor starts - I run 50/50 race though.

Haha, sounds like you need Boost-It and a little race fuel so you dont have to turn it down.

I agree 12# is crap, 16-18# is money. I run 16-18 on straight pump. Pump it right out of my 55gal drum of 112 :)

I just finished my Boost-It install on my PL turbo. Haven't had a chance to get it on the snow yet, but I'm hoping for the best and am confident it will deliver.
My sled worked OK with the RB3, but I credit that to all the time and money I spent fixing PL's crap. Never again will I be a test pilot for someone that hasn't done their homework. Customer service only goes so far unless it starts to fill my wallet back up with all the $$ spent fixing it.

Just my way of thinking, but why do people run premium pump? how much premium pump (91/93 octane at the gas station) does a gas station sell compared to low grade (85/87)??? Im guessing 10 to 1,

How long does todays fuel (especially pump) stay "fresh" and "consistant"... not long! How often are the low grade tanks filled compared to the premium tanks (if they even exist, or theres a diffrence in the grade of fuel being pumped in em) at these stations?

Who knows how long this "premium pump" fuel has been sitting in the tanks!

I get all my fuel from commercial cardlocks that run a PILE of fuel, double filtered, water seperated, and CLEAN!

I run pump in my impulse apex @ 12 lbs 5K ft and up, but still will put in a couple gallons of 110 just for cheap insurance!

didn't know this was a bashing session on powderlites but 12lbs with lowered compression 9:5:1 is pretty safe above 5k at 91 octane at least thats what i run with 2500 miles to date.
