How Much Better Are The Pro Ride RMK's?

After I wrote my earlier thread...I got on the phone with a friend of mine who is a Ski-doo rider.

He was thinking about getting a 2010 RMK Dragon 163 with low miles, Walker Evans shocks, etc etc

Anyhow we got talking about comparing the 2011 Pro ride to the Dragon...and well....

How much better is the Pro ride compared to the Dragon..(even though the Dragon is a great sled)????

I ride an 07 dragon usually but yesterday my dad was letting me ride his 11 Pro-RMK. What a difference! Was a lot more confident in the trees on the Pro, and felt a lot more balanced for carving. The first time I rode his Pro was last season on one of the first rides of the season, I didn't have much time on the Dragon yet so I guess I wasn't really impressed at first. Now that I've got a season and a half on the Dragon, switching to the Pro felt very natural and way easier.

Needless to say my father didn't get to ride his Pro for the rest of the day...

as for rideability the pro does it all better it gets up on the snow it carves easier its easier to get unstuck:face-icon-small-dis
i don't think i noticed much more HP but it gets that HP to the snow way better
so i'd say their quite a bit different basicly if you can afford to step up to a pro(assuming your shopping polaris)
DOOO IT! it will remind you everytime you ride it that you made the right decision
oh and don't ride one if you don't plan on getting one !
(trail of tears my friend)

Thanks!

The difference in price was $300 between the 2010 Dragon and the 2011 RMK...$7700 vs $8000

The 2010 Dragon had 879 miles on it versus 1263 for the 2011 RMK...So neither had really that much mileage...

The 2010 Dragon has a 163 track and the 2011 RMK has a 155 track...

The Dragon has better shocks but the RMK is lighter and one year newer

Both seem to be good sleds but I think the 2011 RMK is the better sled?!

For $300 its a no brainer. Get the Pro

The Dragon if equipted with a power commander some vents, geared down a couple of teeth is a great sled , but for it to be in the same arena with the Pro it needs to lose 50 lbs 35 or so will come with the install of a Holz alfa x rear skid, then they really rock but you can't do all that for $300.00

After owning a '10 Assault and now a '12 PRO, I would say for a difference of $2000 it would still be a no brainer. 08-10 CFI4's are plagued with motor issues. It's not IF the motor will go, it's how soon. The PRO motors seem to be much more reliable, and the chassis is lightyears better. I enjoyed riding my '10, but absolutely LOVE riding my '12 PRO.

could'nt agree more with what they said !
and by the way a 155 pro will stomp a stock susp. 163 dragon
my dragon would dig and dig till its fighting itself my pro climbs up on top and that makes it so much more forgiving in powder giving you more time to make the choice "am i gonna make it? or crap where do i turn out!":face-icon-small-hap
