How many of you lower 48r's would love to ride in Alaska????

Although I would love to feel the sleds power at sea level.

You can have those -40 and -50 all to your selves

I do all right for a California native living in Utah but under 0 and you wont find me out riding

Need to be out where i am. Ride on the river, tundra and the mountains are close to 2 hrs away. Mostly flat tundra though near me.
Gets real fun in spring when out on the river with rotten ice.
Sometimes out when there is a foot of water or more on the ice.
we always have wind outhere.

I was up there early December in '07. Greeted my brother back from Iraq, and we wanted to rent and ride. Stopped at a rental place in Anchorage, don't remember the name, and he said it was some of the least amount of snow on record for that time. He warned how areas of tundra were thin and rock damage is spendy, lol. Drove up to Wasilla, got the same thoughts from the Cat guy there. SO, we drank all week instead of trashing a rental. I really wanted to say that I have rode in Alaska, but didn't quite get it done. Probably won't ever get the chance again.

question for everyone in alaska........

How is the pow riding up there? all ive ever seen in videos is jumping....but im really interested in moving up there....soon...

Don't let the cold temps fool you. It is a good for freezing everything over solid. Once the low pressure moves back in we will be getting pow galore. I think Alyeska (Ak's lone ski resort) beat Whistler out for most snow last year. Alyeska finished with 998 inches if i remeber correctly.

The new Gold Rush....

...........color me there.

Sweeeet!

Hitch-hiking on the side of the Al-Can, sort of just sitting here on my M8 with a stupid look on my face, waiting for somebody to come by towing a trailer and offer me a ride. Damn, it's cold out here. Somebody pick me up - my laptop batts are running low.........

that's all we've got here

Good on you:)

I just moved here from PA so I know the pain the guys I rode with back there are going through. We would wait until the end of Jan to ride due to lack of snow. It looks like it's happening again this year in Pa. You guys at least have some to ride.

I have to say this place is unfreaking believable! I can ride almost anywhere I need to go on my sled and then hit the powder. The roads have trails on the right of ways. Heaven it's really Heaven... with the exception of the -30 temps we have had for the last two weeks..

Thanks Fellow Alaska riders for posting those pics. Didn't think I was gonna get this many responses. Yeah wish you all had a chance to ride up here. Its GODS COUNTRY for sure!!!!!! Keep em comin!
