Sorry I don't have any pics to put on. But last year in West Yellowstone I out ran a slide. We had been on this hill for at least a half an hour side hilling and I thought if it was going to slide it should have long before it did. I waited until a guy came down and then I took a run at the hill again. I was about 1/3-1/2 of the way up and then noticed the hill coming down. Turned around and pinned it. I was on my friends brand new Dragon and that he picked up the day we left for the trip and all I was thinking was I don't want to wreck his new sled. I had never even been through an area that had slid and wow the snow was so hard and the size of the chunks. We had hooked up with other guys from MN so afterwards we were talking and eating some food. So I asked who had beacons on. Their group said they had beacons but then they realized that about half of them did not have them on. WOW I was amazed at that. No the smartest thing. It broke about 3/4 the way up the mountain and it looked like it was 6-10' deep on the break and it was very wide going from left to right. It was the whole area we were on and then it went over to the right and into the rocks and trees and then probably slid about 1000' out into the meadow that we came through to get there. I thank God that nobody was caught in it. Now that I saw one that close I don't ever want to see one again.
